Welcome to Burthorpe, north of Taverley and south of the Troll Areas. This city has many interesting features, such as the Warriors' Guild, the Burthorpe Games Room, and a Slayer Master!

Getting There

Method 1: Change your house portal to Taverley, teleport to your house, leave by the portal, and then walk north. Level-10 Construction and 5,000gp is required to do this.

Method 2: Teleport to the Games Room with a Games Necklace.

Method 3: Use the Gnome Gliders (requires completion of The Grand Tree Quest) and fly to Sindarpos in White Wolf Mountain.

Attractions

(1) Denulth

In this tent you can find Denulth, who you speak with to start the Death Plateau and Troll Stronghold Quests.

(2) Soldiers

This area is filled with Soldiers. In the middle, there is a Sergeant training a group of them. South of that are three Soldiers sitting by a fire and eating. In surrounding tents there are level-48 Soldiers that you can fight and talk to. There are also some Dummies that Soldiers are training on to the east. You can get Attack experience for attacking a Dummy, but only until your Attack level is level-8.

(3) Toad and Chicken Pub

In here you can find some more level-48 Soldiers, Penda, who is level-5, and Tostig, the Bartender. He sells different Ales. If you speak to him and say that you won't buy a drink, he'll say:

Yes, and the black cat dances in the sink.

Now go down the trapdoor nearby to enter the Rogue's Den. In there you can find Martin Thwait. You'll need an Agility and Thieving level of 50 to buy supplies from him. In addition, he can sell you a Thieving Cape of Achievement. Another reason people come here is because Emerald Benedict, who can act as a bank for you, is so close to a fire. To start the Rouge's Den maze, you'll have to speak with Brian O' Richard.

Upstairs you will see Harold, who plays a role in the Death Plateau Quest. If you go through the east door on the first floor, you will find Bernald, who is in the Garden of Tranquility Quest.

(4) Turael

This small house contains Turael. Turael is a Slayer Master who gives the easiest assignments. He can also give re-assignments. You can also buy Slayer equipment from him.

(5) Unferth

Unferth is in this house. You must speak to him in order to start the A Tail of Two Cats Quest.

(6) Hild

Here you can find Hild. You speak to her in the A Tail of Two Cats Quest.

(7) Dunstan

In this house you'll see an Anvil, which is used to Smith, but it's not near a Bank or Furnace. You'll also find Dunstan there. Dunstan makes Spiked Boots and sleds. They can be used in the Death Plateau, Desert Treasure, and Troll Romance Quests. Dunstan gives you a Law Talisman after finishing the Troll Stronghold Quest as well.

(8) The Castle

This is the Burthorpe Castle. It is guarded by level-37 Guards and level-42 Archers. Inside there are Colored Balls, used in the Death Plateau puzzle. There's also a level-5 Servant and the level-5 Cook, named Eadburg. Upstairs is Eohric, a character in Death Plateau. Downstairs is the Burthorpe Games Room, where you can play different board games against others. In the Games Room you can find Sam and Rachael, who sell different Ales and can give you information on the Games Room.

(9) The Warrior's Guild

The Warriors' Guild is where players whose Attack and Strength levels add up to 130 go to play different Mini-games. For winning Mini-games, players win Warriors' Guild Tokens, which they use to enter a room filled with level-56 and level-76 Cyclopes. They can drop Defenders, which is a Sword that can be worn on your Shield hand. In addition, there is a Potion Store, Food Store, Fighting Gear Store, and a Bank.

(10) Tenzing

This house belongs to Tenzing. He will sell you Climbing Boots after completing the Death Plateau Quest. He also plays a role in Troll Romance. Behind his house are some level-1 Chickens, a level-3 Rooster, a Goat named Billy, some Potato plants, and a stile you can climb over for a shortcut to Death Plateau, inhabited by Thrower Trolls and Mountain Trolls.

(11) Saba's Cave

Just south of Death Plateau is a cave entrance. If you enter it, you should find Saba. He is in the Death Plateau Quest.
