View From The Hut

I thought that it'd be possible to gain the rest of the music tracks that I'm yet to unlock in about 10 minutes if the Sandwich Lady whisked me away. Unfortunately, that was based on the assumption that the Champion's Challenge music would unlock by killing the Leprechaun, which isn't the case. Since I found this out, I've spent large amounts of time camping at the Hut in Lumbridge killing thousands of Goblins. So far I've gone from 7,171,371 to 7,316,263 Defence xp (144,892 xp, about 7240 kills) and have still not been deemed enough of a threat to be provided with a Challenge Scroll. sad.gif

The view from the Hut for pretty much all of the time: http://i48.tinypic.com/15n51mp.png

Although, yes, it's a fairly tedious process, it's possible to break it up by deciding to stop after 10k xp (500 kills) or 100 Gold Charms (~1200 kills). Collecting Charms, Air Talismans and Water Runes mean that I've been provided something useful for my efforts and if wanted I could pick up the clue scrolls, which have a drop rate of 1/150-200 and always appear to come in 2s and 3s. tongue.gif

Kills come at about 750/hr on a world with 1200+ people (so the spawns are fast enough), which means that I've spent about 10 hours there so far. In that time I've noticed that people actually use the canoes. ohmy.gif It may only be 2-4 people/hr, but I was barely expecting a single sole to appear at the canoe station. It's also worth noting that although most who use it are in the 70-95 level range, I've seen people all the way from level 30-130 make use of this mode of transport that I've totally ignored after the day it was released.

There have been a few people appearing in the Hut with me, most having fun completing the Lost Tribe storyline with Zanik trailing along with them, which has provided a couple of great conversations. biggrin.gif

At the same time, there have been a couple of people who have shown themselves to be complete jerks and turned a frustrating task into a highly irritating one. If I'm here first, it's my Hut and you need to hop worlds (yes, I practice what I preach). I don't care that there are 'only' 1423 people the next most populated member's world and a huge 1456 on this one, you'll get significantly more kills if you aren't trying to fight with me. To all those who understand this, thank you. To anybody who attempts to 'take over', making snide comments in the process (Kyoobi1 is the name I noted in this category), stop being a jerk.

Farming run: Al-Kharid, run across, take the canoe to the Champion's Guild, do the hop patch and the bush patch, run to Varrock and do the tree. biggrin.gif

I feel the same way about the crafting guild, there really isn't enough gold ores to 'share'.

Anyone else feel like getting their cannons and paying Neo a little visit? tongue.gif

The first 3-4 hours are fun, the next couple are slightly annoying, then after that you're in a trance (like with Firemaking) and kill without thinking. biggrin.gif

Don't worry - at least I knew I'd be disappointed before going in rather than afterwards. wub.gif

Ooo, makes a bit of sense and would explain why I couldn't think of it - I don't farm Hops and only pick berries from the Champion's Guild when passing.

#1: There's not room in the hut to set up a cannon, so you'd be mainly killing things outside
#2: It's single combat
#3: You'd find yourself on a personal KOS for both the Clan Chat and forums
