The Never-Ending Well Saga

It is permissable to kick:

1, Anyone spamming repeatedly, by which I mean '@@@@@@@@@@' or 'plz plz plz plz' or any unacceptable repetition of someone's name. Anything which renders conversation impossible, because the eight lines are being filled with one person posting such things. Discretion should be used. Mid-quest, it's quite feasible that someone will post 'omg!', followed by a second line of 'omg!' before calming enough to flesh out the detail.

2, Anyone being racist, homophobic, sexist, attacking individuals solely on their creed, culture, religion, disabilities or special needs, combat and skills level, mode of playing (f2p or p2p) or economics.

Otherwise, I see no need to kick anyone. No kicking should happen without clear and understood warnings; no kickings should happen whilst I am in the room, as, if it's needful, then I'm quite capable of doing it myself.

I'm currently in world 42, with Massecure360, where he's 3.3k away from his magic skillcape. (His cc if you're going to rush and join us. The party starts in 6 mins.)

I got pondering. How many people here would get why I've called my Fruitbat, Leslie?

Edit: To put you out of your misery, the answer is that one of the people in Carter USM is called Fruitbat. His real name is Leslie Carter. For those of you going, 'who?', here is Carter:

Bit of background: Fruitbat is the one in the cycling hat, who isn't best pleased at the end. He'd been drinking all day, so wasn't the most sober individual in the world. Carter had been told that they could do their song live, but, at the last moment, were refused that. They make it very obvious that it's not as live as the audience were expecting, by not actually playing their guitars for most of this. Note also how insulting Philip Schofield is at the beginning of the clip. Then, as the last straw, their song is cut short and faded out (probably because they're embarrassing the organisers by showing that it wasn't live). Tempers flared somewhat.

Maybe? I would have guessed because of Dr. Leslie Hall. But I am not sure that is the same Leslie you are thinking of.

  Egghebrecht, Nov 25 2009, 12:15 PM

most likely only people who googled "leslie the fruitbat" like me tongue.gif

  Grief, Nov 25 2009, 01:22 PM

  Pepsicoke, Nov 25 2009, 01:23 PM

Do I earn a cookie?

  AquarianPixi, Nov 25 2009, 03:08 PM

Ah, I should have known it had something to do with Carter USM. tongue.gif

  Massecure360, Nov 25 2009, 03:46 PM

Well, of course I know after you told me. tongue.gif

  Simple013, Nov 25 2009, 06:10 PM

Eh, Let me hazard a guess. Because Leslie Hall wrote a book on bats?

  Avicile_Mohaili, Nov 25 2009, 08:04 PM

Mine is named Eric. See if you can guess why. tongue.gif

  sregit, Nov 26 2009, 03:43 AM

fruitbats? rock and roll? punk bands? mystifying

  Helm360, Nov 26 2009, 01:32 PM

Hmm...could it be Eric the Fruitbat from monty python's "fishing licence"? had to google it tongue.gif I was so curious wink.gif . Obscure cultural references ftw! Reminds me of the time Teacup told me this quest was all based on actors from a play.

  Pepsicoke, Nov 26 2009, 02:34 PM

I Googled my answer too.

  Helm360, Nov 26 2009, 03:41 PM

Per the video-that was rude! Not allowing them to play their song is just discurteous ohmy.gif
Still, it was funny how they effectively gave the producers a smack in the face by not playing their guitars smile.gif

I've updated the blog, so that you all now know the answer. Some really good guesses in there! Unless the 7 'yes' replies were as a result of Googling, then there are 7 people here showing their age. tongue.gif

Jim Bob is English. I don't know if he's Jewish or not. I don't recall him mentioning any religion in his book.

  Runescape Bits, Nov 28 2009, 01:24 PM

muslim and arab imigration has ruined the english and other european countries sadly. Did you know that if the trends are maintained, within 35 years europe will be a muslim continent?

  teacuptime, Nov 30 2009, 04:38 AM

Far too early in the morning for me to have worked this one out, in the back of my mind I did know that Carter USM were Jimbob and Fruitbat, but I'm not sure I ever knew their real names so I didn't put two and two together. My 'before the first cup of tea' brain just got stuck singing 'leslie the fruitbat' to the tune of 'frosty the snowman', and I was wondering if that was therefore the little-known second verse. I tried to check here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xsUIDez0sZw but intelligibility was never Liz Frazer's strong point. On the upside, I'm listening to 'stars and topsoil', which can't be a bad thing.. all together now "lucky lucky penny penny penny bicycle-y tulips now".

LOL Now I'm singing 'Leslie the Fruitbat'! lol

OMG! That video was brilliant! I love Calvin and Hobbes!
