Why does the OP want XP anyway? As far as i can tell, soon nobody will be using it on new laptops or desktops, or indeed netbooks, with the release of Windows 7.

Isn't XP going to be stop being supported next year?

Vista is far superior to XP, anyways. smile.gif

No, Win7 is better than WinXP, even if you have to pay a bit more for it. Not the least of which is that Windows 7 actually contains Windows XP...

$90 for a WinXP Home OEM license... $140 for WinXP Pro iirc.

To tack on some actual facts...

1) Vista was a complete overhaul, too much of an overhaul actually
2) Windows 7 is build off of Vista. Vista was NT 6.0, Windows 7 is not NT 7.0 but rather NT 6.1. It's a minor evolution.
3) XP sucked until SP2 came out, Vista sucked until SP1 came out. Now we're up to the third and final service pack for XP: SP3. The OS's life is effectively over.
4) The same nice doggy!ing and moaning happens every time Microsoft releases a new OS. Win98 --> WinXP --> WinVista/7. Same nice doggy!ing, same moaning, same idiot users trying to upgrade ancient computers and same manufacturers looking for revenue without considering that they're screwing source of said revenue over.
5) WinXP --------> WInVista -> Win7, XP to Vista is a pretty big upgrade as it is.
6) IF your CPU supports Virtualization (as most AMDs do and many Intels), you will get a free WinXP Pro 32-bit virtual machine.
7) 4GB of RAM is cheap now-a-days which effectively obsoletes 32-bit OS's.
