Magical, one question, does it support to plug 3,5MM-to-Composite-plug into TV?
Thats what new Nokias do, just load a movie, and get a projector, and *switch* *tap* *tap*
You have a cinema! Also you can play games, or show a video you have recorded, or use the composite to plug into a stereo for boosting sound. And still the refresh rate is high. (No visual effects sent into TV, its a S60 feature)
And do you have free racing game where you can race against up to 4 players through bluetooth?
Can you do those things on iphone? eyebrows.gif
Or have Word, Excel and Powerpoint with most Office funtions? (Formulars, text size+font changing, and more)

Realize: Some phones have much more funtionality, but still you have a normal phone that is easy to use.
All to do is download applications to make it advanced. (Like Python, RGA, C++ computer binaries(for running DOS, PIPS)
I can change out the XpressMusic menu on my 5800 into a big application list where i can add and name apps.
In addition, i changed my homescreen into another style. blah.gif

All i need to do is find a free program for it on the internet, because all S60 is either Python, C++ or Java.
All these are popular for programming, which makes a wide community of programmers that do it for free. happy.gif

Personally I like the iPhone, but I don't think Apple have made enough changes this time to make it worth the upgrade for current iPhone users.

And King Aragorn, you can get office apps for the iPhone. As far as I'm aware there's no official Microsoft one, but there's plenty of apps that will give you basic word processing/spreadsheet/database/presentation functions. And the iPhone has built in viewing support if you get sent an email with a document. Most common formats are supported.

Also, you can plug an iPhone into a TV. You need to buy a special cable though.

If by 3.5MM-to-Composite-plug you mean the red, yellow and white wires you plug into a TV then yes, you get a connector, plug it into the back and link it up to any TV, projector etc.

The quality of video is exceptionally high when you are watching on an external device, so yes, you can have a cinema, and yet you plug it into the speakers and you get sound ohmy.gif

Perhaps not, but do you have a game where you can race players in a different country to you?

There are Apps for it, this is a phone remember, not a laptop.

Apple programming is free pfft.gif You can even test it in the virtual iPhone on your Mac.

All programming for S60 is free, and always been, but its a bigger range of how to develop. (Widget, Flash, Java, Python, C++, Origo and some more)
And much wider, because you can run Palm if you get StyleTap. (That way i have a SNES emulator, NES and more ones, including GBA eyebrows.gif )

There is something iphone is good at, its the looks which many go for.
And then they wont get to know about what other phones are good at.
Like Nokia, they will soon release source-code for S60, which can make some applications possible because then you can estimate the programming better when knowing where the data should be referred.

But a single last question:
Can you run Quake 3 on it? eyebrows.gif
And play against someone at PC and also control the player by accelerometer? (Wifi)

You can do that stuff with a jailbroken iPhone. My friend has more emulators than you can count.

Uhh, okay? You're comparing the phones current for to it future form, not to the iPhone.

Look Here and Here.

I honestly think this is good, because it is like getting the original iPhone at its original price, except upgraded.
I think the voice control is pretty cool, and the video is pretty cool. They are just integrating what most normal cell phones have into the iPhones that they didn't in the first place.

When did this topic get hijacked into one bragging "OMG S60 pwns iPhone, methinks" and then "OH WA1T LAWL iPhone culd do dat 2"? You're comparing apples to oranges here (no pun intended).

As for the 3G S, it sounds pretty tempting. The monthly plan just costs way too much pfft.gif

Faster processor more ram and a compass...

Pretty useless for the time being considering the phone can't even multitask.

But how much multitasking do you really need? I've got a BlackBerry that does and I don't find that I use it a ton. Sure, switching between applications is common, but Apple could do that with a double-tap of the Home Button to bring up an application switcher. I find with my BlackBerry that I don't often run many applications and if I am it's easy to switch between, even if there isn't multitasking.

The iPhone 3G S looks good, but I'm stuck on a CDMA network so I can't get one. I'll be updating my Touch G1 to 3.0 though for sure, and most likely buying the Touch G3 when it comes out in October. Hopefully it has some of the new features the iPhone 3G S has.

~ And yeah, when did this become an S60 vs iPhone debate? They're two totally different things. Stop bringing up Nokia in every post you make. We know you like them, now stop parading it. You don't hear anyone else "bragging" about what they have.

You're just criticizing every new feature, you can search your mail = useful.

Only because it's new.
I coulda sworn it was a standard to have a search on a phone if it could do the zillions of other things, too.
Can you seriously not search with the old iPod firmware? That's depressing.
