Hello all, my name's Cam (You can call me Don, I've gotten use to it) and I live in Ontario, Canada with my family of 4 and one Miniature Schnauzer. I'm 16 and have just completed Grade 10 and I am sort of looking forward to to Grade 11. I suppose my personality is what best defines me; I'm assertive in real life but there is no better feeling than when I help someone. I also don't enjoy getting into debates or force negative comments on someone unless it's something I feel very strongly about. I prefer to spend time alone, but that definitely doesn't stop me from having a lot of friends! I hang out with and know a lot of people at my school, some of that is credited to it being rather small (About 800-1000 students). I don't really have a favorite subject, they are all great learning experiences. Outside of School I like to go Longboarding with a few friends or do my job at the nearby retirement home. Of course I love going on the computer, to play Runescape or a few other games. Lately I have also been helping my dad put the finishing touches on our newly renovated house (which looks spectacular). I would say everything's going fine in my life, I don't abuse drugs and I have hardly been picked on at school which is why I keep my friends in high regards.
I started playing Runescape in October 2004 and played all the way through to March 2006, where I took a year long break. So in April 2007 I came back, much to my surprise that most of my good friends were still playing. A week after coming back I became a Member once again, and I must say there is always so much to do! I spent 2 weeks just doing quests and getting to know my way around. I like to browse the official Runescape Forums, helping people, as well as looking at other people's logs on Sal's. And now here I am on my way to quite a few great goals.
99 Hunter was my first 99. I hated Hunter for the first few weeks of it's release, never bothering to get past level 20. Then for some reason I thought I'd try it again, try to at least get it into the Hiscores. That's when I started to fall in love with it, not only because of the money I would make from such a simple skill, just the basic idea of it all. That's when one of my best friends on RuneScape decided he would try for 99 Fletching as his first skill, setting up a premature race, he quickly won while I was still level 81 Hunter. I did not care much, I was glad of him, but I wanted to make more of my first 99. The plan is to incorporate it into my daily Runescape schedule, I want to feel that I worked hard for it, all the while making sure I didn't stress myself and get bored of it. Sure, this may mean that I won't achieve it in the alloted month that it takes most people, but Hunter will probably continue to be my favorite skill long after I get 99. I shall wear the cape with pride, and who knows, I may be the next Hunter with 200m exp!
I achieved 99 Cooking in under 10 days, it really showed me how easy the "easy" 99's are, I was expecting it to take a while longer but I guess I was wrong. I met quite a few cool and new friends in Rogue's Den, since Cooking didn't require much attention. I used the quickest method of Cooking I could, using some money from 99 Hunter. I had a great 99 party, it was a lot of fun and I hope my future parties are just as good, hopefully even better.
Attack was my first combat 99. I started off for about 100k exp at Bandits, and decided by looking through other player's logs that bandit training wouldn't be my style. I had just bored through 2 repetitive 99's, I didn't want to do that again for a while. Upon deciding to train via Slayer, I realized that not only would it benefit me but my humble supporters as well. 99 Attack will bring in Clues, Drops, and even more Levels. This proves more exciting to my log and may inspire others to train with Slayer, it really is an awesome skill! I did realize that training with Slayer (especially when I am racing against another person) would take considerably longer but it honestly didn't seem that big of a deal once I finished. I raced Reno with 99 Attack (Even though she was 96 Already) because she had been stuck there for quite a while and needed that extra push. It was good 99 as my first combat skill, more useful than Strength in the way I see it.
Defence, perhaps the second most useful combat 99 if not the first. Again I used Slayer for this and got even more money out of it than from Attack. I definitely noticed the difference that Defence made, so I highly recommend you don't ignore the skill if you plan on doing a lot of combat. Defence really wasn't as hard as people make it out to be, it was quite comparable to Attack. I only had a small party because honestly I wanted to max my combat skills even more. This is usually the cape I wear to the GWD mostly because it was the reason I mastered the skill!
Obviously 99 Hitpoints is not a planned goal for most people, it comes naturally with the other combat skills. What sent a small chill up my spine on this one was that I knew all the damage I had ever done in my RS career added up to this, although I wasn't quite as excited as when I got 99 Hunter. I still wear my Hitpoints cape the most because I absolutely love combat, and it's the best representation of that.
I have been having so much fun with this log, I hope you have had just as much fun following me!
