Is Office XP or Office 2003 newer, and which one has more features?

Does it go:
Office 2000
Office 2003
Office XP
Office 2007

Or:
Office 2000
Office XP
Office 2003
Office 2007

I think the newer version will have more features. smile.gif

I use 2003, and it shouldn't really matter as long as you don't get the 2000 version, of course that is an opinion.

Office XP I believe is the 2002 version. It is similar to Office 2003 from my experience, but the UI is improved in 2003 along with a few other things - but nothing much.

I use Office XP at school, and it is just as good as Office 2003 for doing anything.

2007 version is totally different UI so watch out if your buying it.

I know, I use Office 2007 at home. But this topic isn't to do with Office 2007. wink.gif

Yeah, there isn't much difference between the two at all. Microsoft Office 2003 SP3 has also just been released.

Who cares--Office '07 has nearly no market share compared to Office '03. I'll stick with '03 because I like the UI and it suits me well. Besides--Office '07 has a new XML format... so instead of adding it in discretely, they added another 100MB to the office suite which undoes all the space-saving you get with .xdoc...

It has more than just the xml format, so 100mb is understandably in my opinion. And besides, 100mb isn't much really. The whole suite is only 560mb. slanty.gif

That's not the point--they wasted 100MB in adding petty features that I don't think I'll ever really use. I'm sure they improved some things, but spending $120+ on an office suite when I already have on that's already supported? Naw. Anyways--I'm just a bit curious on why they wanted such a crappy UI without a choice to change it back to Office 00/02/03. I think I'll wait it out for Office '09 or '10... by then, I'll need it for college (and I only upgraded from Office '00 to '03 under a year ago).

Businesses and educational institutes are already making the jump from Office 2003 to Office 2007. Of course there is a bit of a problem for people getting used to the new layout, but they will learn just like they learn to use any software. Within a couple of years, i'm sure 2007 will be the majority just like 2003 is today.

Yeah because in this day and age people still use 10GB hard drives.

I download 100+ megs on a near daily basis.

I'm just trying to say they advertised that they were saving you space with a small-sized XML-based document setup. As I already stated, they forgot to mention that the office suite that saves you a few kilobytes per document is actually taking up about a hundred megabytes more. Other then that, bravo Microsoft. I'll stick to what I have an save my pocket from the expensive "upgrade" (as I already said--I hate the UI).
