Do I get this straight? You pay $50 to view 2000 different websites, and the others don't work?

Possibly. Or Google might pay your ISP to have a faster connection than another websites.
Heres a wiki on it:

It's hypothetical.

I don't want it to happen, but isn't this sort of thing happening for Internet inevitable? They do this with Cable TV.
If you can't access limewire.com, you can't download the P2P program, so you can't download music or movies through P2P... I think it's going to happen.

I think it is going to happen too, whether it works is a different matter.

I'm sure there will still be some providers who give unlimited access. I mean there has to be someone who's smart enough to know if this happened to most providers that giving unlimited access would get him a lot of customers.

However, I am sure you would pay a premium for having unlimited access - but then I wouldn't mind paying a premium.

The internet isn't television, millions of sites are created on a yearly basis, television gains only a couple. It's nearly impossible to make a selection of sites and still call it the 'internet'.
Besides, you don't need an ISP to have an internet connection. It's possible to hook yourself up to the internet, though very hard, it does proove that it's nearly impossible to limit which sites people visit.
