To be honest, products that go into sale are either bad or out-dated. Sometimes, like with the Intel Q6600 for example, they get really cheap, because there's better versions out there, but it's still high end. That's the real good deals you're looking for.

Pentium D for $100 is a ripoff (you can get Pentium Dual-Core E2140/60/80 for under $100 and they match or beat with less heat and less power drawn). As for the coolers--the Gemini II and Hyper TX2 are both fine coolers--though I already prefer silent coolers that work much better.
