On Topic: The most expensive software I purchased was $0.

Off Topic: The school district at the capital of my state is doing something completely stupid. They're going to spend $30,000 on face precognition software to help keep bad guys off campus. First off, the database of faces is only going to consist of the students so if some criminal did show up, the software wouldn't alert the SRO officers. Secondly, people who do columbine like shootings are supposed to be on campus so again no alert would be given. My last point is this $30,000 should be going towards education and learning, not dumb software that doesn't help learning. The cameras they have now work perfectly.

Mine's either Windows Vista Home Premium (yet-to-be-purchased) for $112, or Adobe Photoshop 4.0 & Premiere 2.0 Elements at $120 or so.

I'm sure for every expensive product out there in the consumer market, there is a free product hiding in the background that is nearly just as good.

Exactly dlpailo. It's just that it doesn't have the COA. The precious COA

Alot of these expensive programs are as good as free ones. Here is ONE comparison:

Photoshop - GIMP (paint.NET if you use Windows)

Personally, I think Photoshop is a lot better than the GIMP. Not to mention it's a lot more common and thus supported.

GIMP is a pretty good free version, but i don't like it pfft.gif it has a lot less capabilities and i don't find the interface very friendly.

Its still free smile.gif.

When your looking at what sort of software the average people use, it gets stupidly expensive, i mean office 2003 is £459.99.

standard came with my computer so i guess that retails at £200 so thats probally the most expensive suite on my computer, which i think is still stupid pfft.gif.

Cold fusion is about $1299, im supposed to be learning the interface and how to use it but how am i supposed to afford it pfft.gif.

Microsoft C# developer express will have to do sad.gif
