EDIT: story done.

JaGex, you may call them the people of ideas, the great killers of boredom or anything you really would like to but why? JaGex put in the updates to keep people playing but think about all of the things were put in and never used.

Back infact way, way, way back in the days of 2003, it’s the 14th of April and the system update sign appears! Oh goodie! More updates woot! The new update being throwing items but on average how many people actually use throwing axes, some of the stuff like the knives are used a lot for power training and you will often see the occasional darts man or woman but never in the history of my RuneScape life have I seen someone using throwing axes, from 2004 to 2007 I have seen no one.
Throwing axes, the first failure.

13th of June 2005, the skill Rune Crafting gets some updates, one of them being the Combination Runes. At once everyone ran around trying to obtain these runes and then attempt to sell them for a fairly high price but within atleast a week and a half they went down and nobody bothered with them anymore. These are infact a very good way and I have read methods using the combination of the Fire and Air runes to get quite a good amount of experience.
This is the 2nd failure.

Finally and thirdly on the 6th of November in 2006 a new quest (Enlightened Journey) was released. One of the rewards of Enlightened Journey was the ability to make small balloons you can fly out and gain firemaking experience. Now how often do you see someone gaining a level with the use of the small balloons and their dramatic fall. Never has any of my friends used this nor anyone I have seen using it, but why? This is a nice little way that makes a change of using a white firelighter or lighting a cold room in you’r Player Owned House.

The three updates never used are actually things that could be used, the throwing axes hit strong enough to be a decent wepeon, combined runes can help you in tedious tasks either maging like Player Killing in the Wilderness or just using mage to bring down that fearfull Gelatinoth Mother.

Hi Irplop here.

Reading the newly released news paper and reading the ones before it had occured to me I would like to have the chance to write an article or further articles in the Runescape Discussion section.

The main things I would be focusing on are the community, the ingame updates and just the normal things people take for granted.

I had a great idea for a column of 'The Thing's That Never Really Made It Big'. The name gives most of it away tongue.gif but there are alot of stuff that have been made to help but really have not made it big. Stuff like the baloons you can use to get Firemaking experience, how no one really uses them as a special way to get a level or combined runes, how people dumped the thought of it due to it being to hard to obtain but how it is actually usefull in gaining a pretty good amount of Runecrafting experience.

Well that's just all I have to say really and I hope it sums up what you are looking for. I really do hope I am picked.I can be mature and type properly when I really want to, I only really use "leet" around friends to mess about.

As said above I am hoping you will pick me, I'd really like it smile.gif

Can you post an example of something about RS you've written, so there's something to base an idea on? biggrin.gif

It doesn't need to be massive, just a few paragraphs if something interesting can be made from that. happy.gif

Please read this for a proper application wink.gif

EDIT: Couldn't find the article so I'm going to just make a new one for an example.

I have a piece I wrote for a friend when he was making a site that never really worked out. I'll dig around it post it.

There are a couple of small problems with that example, but nothing that's enough to make it bad. smile.gif

There are a large number of people who spend their lives killing things, and playing that way, so having a perspective of someone who doesn't bother with combat would also be interesting. happy.gif
