I just would like to bring to your attention a reason behind Make-X updates which is not being considered by majority of the players, but still remains (I believe) the main one out there.

The problem Jagex is rightfully addressing there is related to physical health of the players.

Quote from TruthScape:
QUOTE
Repetitive Stress Injuries (RSI) / Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

As the name implies, a repetitive stress injury (RSI) is one that occurs from repeating the same motion too often over a prolonged period of time. This is probably the most serious risk for most RuneScape players: many activities require repeated mouse movements and clicks, which can lead to injuries of the wrist, hand and fingers. One common type of RSI is carpal tunnel syndrome, in which the nerves in the carpal tunnel of the wrist become compressed, leading to pain, numbness, tingling and or weakness in the arm and hand.

These injuries are not something to be taken lightly, because in some cases the damage can be long-lasting.

Make-X options reduces the risk greatly. And Jagex is 100% right in sacrificing skillers training speed by eliminating/reducing health damage risk for the players.

I hope it clarifies the situation a bit. In fact majority of the Jagex updates this year are very consistent in addressing serious issues in Runescape: players health, both physical and mental, safety, scamming etc. It's just not always obvious for the general players population.

That's a very, very good point. I've had a brush with RSI, and was lucky to get back the ability to use a mouse without pain. I have friends who are not so lucky, they can't use a keyboard for more than a few minutes an hour.

I can't emphasise strongly enough how important avoiding RSI is. If RS makes your wrist hurt... please, for your own sake, cut down until it stops hurting.

This is not a temporary pain like a stitch or charley horse that you can work though, it's a permanent disability you are risking.
