Let's start betting on prices... I bet the 1g version costs more than all the exports of china combined.

umm no that would be like billions of dollars of exports cause China is one of the biggest exporting countries. Well it is rumoured to be 299$ to 349$ USD, which is okay considering my situation. G92 core? Dunno. Dont believe those sites that say it only has 112 stream processors they are only talking about the SSC not the new new GTS which is going to be released December 11!

WTF? Who needs all that power? I know video makers and professional graphic designers who don't even need that.

Gamers.

Yes, it's coming out. Most of those specs are 99% sure, it's also going to beat the Ultra. And DAMN, it is UGLY. blink.gif

its okay but you know they will probably stick a picture of a person on it just for kicks like XFX sticks dog pictures on their video cards. Dual slot cooling is better than single am i correct?

I'll be back to discuss it when it's released on December 11th since there's not much to discuss right now, only speculate. The only thing to that we can be sure about is that it will be faster than all the other video cards currently on the market. happy.gif

Single slot cooling is better, as it saves space and indicates the card produces a smaller amount of heat. Performance wise, dual slot is likely to be better, though that is a hard thing to tell globally.

It'll support PCI Express 2.0 (using x16 slot at 200MHz), for one. For two, it WON'T support DirectX 10.1 or ShaderModel 4.1. Quite basically, your best future-proofing bet with an Intel chipset (P35 or X38) are Radeon HD 38x0's (3850 if your PCI Express slots are next to each other, 3870 if they're not, or a changed-heatsink 3870 if you want to run four). Anyways--be aware that the nForce 680i and 780i are still said to NOT support Yorkfield (Core 2 Quad Q9xx0) at anything more then stock speeds. Only the nForce 790i should be able to overclock Yorkfield. Also be aware that Wolfdale (Core 2 Duo E8xx0) will be fully supported. Anyways--after seeing numbers on how well 38x0's do in CrossFire (they scale incredibly well--much better then 8800GT's in SLI with an average 10% performance advantage--and also remember that a single HD3870 is actually slower then a single 8800GT--meaning they scale MUCH better).

If that card costs around $300 when it's released, and performs better than an 8800GT, I'm getting it. tongue.gif

It's going to be ~500 dollars, and it only outperforms the GT by a very small margin. biggrin.gif

Current GTS cards are $250 - $300, so I imagine the newer ones will be more expensive, more in the $400-500 price range. Also because they'll be the best cards on the market at that time.

I think I've seen it have a higher average FPS than the GTX in BioShock, but only slightly, although I may be making a mistake. tongue.gif

No, it's not the best. It's slower than the GTX and Ultra, and it's cooled less efficiently. rolleyes.gif

On most games, on Crysis the GT out performs it smile.gif (haven't got the benchmarks at hand)
