Neo Avatars
Pete's been having an interesting month, visiting the mindbendingly clever and the mindbogglingly thick! Mr Mordaut and Reldo have been flying the flag for the smart folks, while the trolls have been causing trouble at *ahem* 'the other end of the intellectual spectrum', shall we say?

Speaking of mindbending and boggling, Postie Pete has a picture from the Chaos Elemental's crib for you to decipher, if you think you're up to the challenge - but beware: it will tax your brain to the limit!

Of course, not everyone has been riding the intellectual rollercoaster. It's hard to say whether the Evil Chicken is smart or not, but we can safely say that he needed more hugs as a wee chick.

If you want to find out more, you'll just have to read the Postbag for yourself! And do keep sending in your letters and question otherwise the Evil Chicken will think you're scared of him! What's the matter? Are you chicken?

Posting three updates in the wrong order ftw. box.gif tongue.gif

are the letters

Also... with the lottery numbers with a=1, b=2, etc, the numbers picked are "magpie" and the barcode numbers are "mahay". unsure.gif

'tis puzzling. bleh.gif

Total letters that I can find that may be of use...

Magpie - lottery numbers
macaw - barcode (not mahay - I can't read my own writing bleh.gif)
ecunilc - circled letters - where's the 'm'? unsure.gif

'ecunilc' is an anagram of 'nucleic' - as in Deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA - creating things)
If you ignore one of the 'c's, the anagram becomes 'Lucien'.

Morse code at bottom of To-Do list:

GECKO

First line of To-Do list anagram of: Barker Toad
Second line of To-Do list anagram of: Evil Turnip
Third line of To-Do list anagram of: Dread Fowl/Dread Wolf/Fowl Adder
Fourth line of To-Do list anagram of: Army Paintings/Praying Mantis

Rock Rald is an anagram of: Cord Lark

If you replace each sudoku symbol with a letter, you get a cryptogram that can be solved to give:
"Mahjarrat gathers an army he shall slay many masters" - taken from Official Forums

Magpie
Macaw
Nucleic (Deoxyribonucleic acid)
Gecko
Evil Turnip

Dread Fowl

The sudoku is unsolvable, too many duplicates. I'm also thinking word run-overs. Such as "ban an Asoluto from racing" having "banana" at the start when the words are read across each other, or "In the aftermath, Ankour attacked" (i think Ankour are a monster in RS...or Ankous...) reads "Thank".

Or maybe the names mentioned are special accounts created for this whole thing. Maybe they have something in their signatures on the official forums?

Oh, and:

"The terms balnea or thermae were the words the ancient Romans used for the buildings housing their public baths. "(Its © balnea on the wig advert)
Izzidore
i get the letters on the barcode as
13 1 9(maybe 8?) 1 23 which come put as the letters
M A I(maybe H) A W

i also think there may be a w circled in the title of chaosudoku on the a

i recommend opening up the image with an editor and sharpenening some of the letters....

the image by the letters ogre wigs is the aritfact from the zogre flesh eaters quest...that slash bash conviently wore on his head...

thinking of some more conlclusions .... hope these help solve this fun mystery

Rock Rald is just "Varrock Herald" cut off which is why it doesn't make sense.

Nice thinking.

Neo, if the anagrams are right or mean anything, I'm going to guess the first and third line are about summoning. As for the others, no idea. There has been a mention of Zaros or mahjarrat in all CE things since the first one, I believe, so I'm not surprised.
Tyra
blink.gif neo that was really fast lol. anyhow i i think at least one of the things is the picture is an anagram, but i believe jagex is more creative than just useing anagrams. still that was awesome neo.

the list seems like a list of things that we can summon cept nucleic
ButterflyOfSteel
When I looked at the circled letters, I saw "CLUE IN", not nucleic. It seems to make more sense, what do you guys think?

Under the "to do" list, there's some morse code that spells "GECKO". There's also life runes in the Sudoku!

Ogre Wigs. smile.gif (who would want one of THOSE? ewww...)

This is fun! I like this whole clue-finding thing tongue.gif

EDIT: Just noticed that Neo got some of that stuff already. Apologies box.gif "Lucien" also seems more probable than "clue in". I should read more before I post, I guess!

Chaosudoku = uber cute and creative XD

Hmm, use a dog whistle to summon a dog?
littleren13
hey if you look up "chaosudoku" on the internet theres only one site about it in english but its weird... and if theres a hidden message in the sudoku it prolly has something to do with the fact that its a chaosudoku...
and you need to put up a screenie of it biggrin.gif

http://www.passionforpuzzles.com/blog/2006...chaosudoku.html
theres the site that shows what a chaosudoku is and i cut it up like that and you get in:
I.water,air,cosmic,mind,body,astral and 2 souls
II.nature,water,mind, 2 souls
III.nature,fire,blood,soul,astral, 3 airs
IV.mind, 2 souls
V.mud,mind,blood, 3 death
VI.none
VII.blood, 2 waters
VIII.fire,mud,blood,astral,nature,air,2 souls
IX.soul,mud,blood
and if you put it into the "Mahjarrat gathers an army he shall slay many masters" thingy with the letters you get:
I.mahjgatr
II.ahame
III.rratersn
IV.aha
V.yhslll
VI.none
VII.smm
VIII.anyaster
IX.ays
idk if these can be put into anagrams or anything, but yeah... cause it is a chaosudoku

and neo, you need to tell those ppl on the runescape forums thats theres not a life rune in the puzzle lol, the rune on the top, third from the left is a body rune, you can tell if you look at the actual picture of a body rune and and body rune has an up arrow in the middle while a mind rune has something like a sun. life runes looks different, it has ONLY a sun and nothing going off of it. biggrin.gif

A gory Banshee drying honey
Banshee drying a gory honey

Honey, a gory, drying banshee has the word "haberdashery" in it...quite a long word...

has anyone noticed that some of the papers are bitten into and some arent? there are bite barks in all but 2, maybe thats another clue. Also I remember someone said that (rock rald) was varrock harold cut short, so i picked up a varrock herald, but there was nothing to help us there dry.gif .

This was in the rock rald, i have a feeling that this is unfinished and that there is more to read.

Perhaps that day the Varrock herald has something special and I missed it! The cutoff part about it may not be true though since the words are lined up perfectly at the beginning. I wonder what brave new world means, in olden days a new world was a new continent, so perhaps Jagex is adding more to Runescape like more land. That would be cool.

I'm trying to decipher the to do list

~trek abroad` means to travel overseas

~invite purl` Well we all know what invite means, but I looked up purl and I got this
n. The sound made by rippling water. or n. a woven stitch

~add flower` at first i thought this was a reference to cooking but flower is speeled wrong for
cooking, so perhaps its a farming thing, or maybe something to do with the
equipable flowers, well when I think of flowers I think of bees perhaps there will
be bee summoning? Or insects?

~spy marinating` Perhaps an anagram because this one doesnt make sence at all.

X ~ruin a hangman` Like maybe mess up someone's game, or perhaps to stop a death?

X ~wicked video pie` Wicked, well where im from it can mean awesome, but it could also mean
evil, evil video pie? perhaps pie is a reference to magpie, a magpie is a
type of bird

trek, invite, add, spy, ruin, wicked, abroad, purl, flower, marinating, a, hangman, video, pie.
Maybe they form a sentence. I'm stuck there though.

On the sticky note there is
Honey,
A gory, drying banshee
Honey adds to my bee summoning theory from before.
Also to edit the note I tried a lot of things but the only one that seemed to sound correct was
A banshee drying gory honey.

The top note that says orgl wigs makes no sense, even if it was an anagram I could only get
Rigs glow or
Rig glows So I dont think its an anagram, what about an acronym?

O.R.G.L. W.I.G.S Any guesses there?

Also over on the right of that note there is a C that is circled, which could mean copyright or maybe its another circled letter clue. Next to the C is Balnea, I think perhaps an anagram again? Or maybe It's something else.

Well that's all that I see for now, hopefully I helped some

theres a picture of it. (dont mind the black lines on the sudoku, i was just seeing something...)

The answer! I have the answer!

"the first five prototype NPCs were put into production - the macaw, granite crab, gecko, dreadfowl and vampire bat."
-taken from the Development diary: Summoning, part 2

Macaw, gecko, and dreadfowl were hidden in the picture, see Neo Avatars post on page 1! It is likely that "honey" might reference a summonable bee, and "wicked video pie" might reference to a summonable magpie! Is there anything mentioning a squid, a "Karamthulhu", a monkey, or birds, or some giant Minotaur creature? These are the other creatures mentioned to do with summoning in the diary?
