It looks cool, but ihome is better. It charges the ipod by being plugged into a regular plug in the wall (forgot the name). It connects Ipod > speaker dock/auxiliary caple > wall plug

A 3.5mm AUX line is an auxiliary cable. If you noticed, most headphones and things use them. Look at you headphone's metal end that plugs into the ipod. You can see that the metal part is 3.5mm in length, thus making it a 3.5mm Auxiliary line. What it does in the logitech speakers is that if you don't have a docking ipod (like the shuffle) or a different mp3 player, you can hook it up to the AUX hole (where you put the headphones in) and it will play the music while charging.

kk but a normal MP3 has a jack side and a ear bud end. Do you mean a AUX cable has like 2 jacks?

The jack is the AUX end. The whole thing is basically an AUX cable, to some extent.

Imagine this: and aux cable has the jack on one side and the earbuds on the other. In this player, the earbuds are the player (the speakers). Basically they are earbuds that don't go in your ear wink.gif

The speakers come with one...ohmy.gif

I'm pretty sure it's probably a built in one, so you just pull out the chord thingy and plug it into your mp3 player. Or you can just dock your iPod wink.gif

Does it speaker charge the ipod when listening though the speakers? and can the speakers act like a dock to the computer for ipod?
Bub
I'm guessing this is something you want for Christmas?

I'm going to have to agree with Definition on this one. It's a waste of money unless you really, really want it. You can plug your iPod into a nice $20.00 set of 2.1 speakers from Wal*Mart, and it will achieve the same thing (it will turn your iPod into a boom box). However, with the cheap speakers, it will have better quality and louder sound, and the best thing about it is it uses an audio jack so you can plug whatever you want into it, not just an iPod. You could even plug them into your TV if you get an adapter. The only disadvantage is that it's not as portable.

It's not even that. I saw really good Altec Lansing speakers the other day. I think they were $25.00. They were at the local electronics store, and I couldn't find a better deal because they are probably discontinued products.

Listen, don't get the latest items, because all it is it's shrunk a little.

You can PM me if you want me to find you some okay speakers at well -50.00

I agree and disagree.
I agree with you on a personal opinion leve.

I disagree with you, because if you're extremely wealthy (like, Baron Davis, or Yao Ming) then go ahead and waste it on new products that will be 50% after Christmas. aware.gif

But seriously, there's adapters that plug into your iPod, then your car, and then they emit a custom FM signal, so you can charge it, listen to it on the radio, and it's like 80$. MUCH CHEEPER

I think it's time for some innovation on iPod accessories, and American cars, and... pretty much everything that sucks. This discussion could last forever.
