Well I decided to buy myself a Christmass gift. And I was wondering which camera would be better for me. I have taken photography classes, High school classes anyways. And I was wondering which camera would be better for me from switching over from a p/s (point & shoot) to a DSLR.


I keep switching betweem the Nikkon D40x

Personally I am leaning towards the canon. What are your thoughts?

You aren't discussing the picture itself, you are discussing the hardware, the technology. This is the correct place.

I am not big on photography, but I do like the Cannon better.

There almost the same camera, just different brands. They have alot of the same features. The problem with the Nikkon is that only about 20 of the lenses will work with the Nikkon, because they did something to make more money. They made it some most of the lenses auto-focus won't work, so you have to buy the $500+ lenses.
