You don't...
I guess it's popular because it has lots of songs and works with iPods....
What exactly are you trying to say

iTunes is perfect for music organization, IMO.

For some reason, I think that windows media player is much more organized...

I would have to agree... I don't like playing music without windows media player or rhythmbox. Personally I can't stand iTunes. For instance, how hard is it to rename a song! or edit the details.

Because it's a legal way to download music and have it already loaded into your library to add to your iPod. Also because it's a media player itself.

I prefer making a playlist in windows media player, because it barely uses ANY memory (compared to winamp or iTunes)
Although I like the look of winamp over itunes or wmp.
Then again, my favorite has to be Rhythmbox Music Player. Low memory usage like wmp, organized like iTunes.

I use WMP for listening to my music and ripping my CDs but iTunes for single song purchasing and syncing my ipod.

I like browsing the iTunes store when I'm bored

I prefer Windows Media Player. It works well, is already installed and I am used to it. However, if I had an iPod, I would use iTunes. I don't have anything against iTunes, just prefer WMP.

IMO, iTunes has no plus...
Its doesnt even update its library!
When i remove my MP3 while iTunes is on, it thinks the files r on that path!
And when i move music i have to re-organize whole the thing!

Did he^ just say they didn't update their library? Lolz. Also I like using cuz if you use limewire

The songs get organized straight into your itunes, no buffing time, and nI have an ipod.

What I meant (maybe not what he meant) was that new songs get on itunes store

In WMP, if you move, rename, add, or delete files within the monitored folder, they also get changed within the library. In iTunes, you don't have this option. You have to edit them manually or just remove the library and import the songs back in.
@Fencefry, I would hope that the songs bought from apple would be automatically added to apple's music software...

I use WMP 1. Because I have Zune and 2. I love the way it organizes my music. Also, for some reason, scrolling is slow in iTunes?

Only if you click that little arrow on the far right of the program.

I'm strictly against Apple and iPods, therefore I use WMP. WinAmp is good too but I still like WMP's slickness. iTunes sticks out like a sore thumb in Vista. I don't know why anyone hasn't mentioned this but iTunes is the most straightfordward and seemless way to get media onto your iPod, not to mention of the only ways.

Umm you do know there are ways to illegally get songs on there right?????
Personally I prefer Program X for my comp, or if I want real randomization I'll put itunes on shuffle.
I only use it to move music between my comp and Ipod.

Rhythmbox > iTunes
Serious, iTunes doesn't come close to rhythmbox. iTunes seems to autosync now and again despite every option being turned off, and decides to delete my movies now and again.
Also there are tons of ipod managers out there, but i doubt there any better then iTunes.

I've used Rhythmbox once and it's pretty nice. But it is "inspired" by iTunes after all and Mac and Windows users can't benefit.

I prefer Winamp, I like how i can shrink it just to sit above my toolbar, very handy, especially when it's on top of all windows. I only use iTunes myself to download some music i don't have and to transfer my music and videos to my iPod. I prefer the iTunes store to Napster or any other, just a pain that you can't take the music Off your iPod and put it back onto your computer ( Or not that i've found anyway)

You actually can, it's just not as straightforward as putting it on your iPod.

I prefer iTunes, it has a much simpler layout, it's easier to use, and as i have an iPod, it's perfectally compatable!*recieves blank check from apple*

I've had no problesm with this, maybe it's just your computer.....The only problem I've ever had is when it took 4 hours to download a 45 minute film.
