For christmas, I just got the JBL Creature II speakers. They consist of a huge 27 Watt Subwoofer and two 9 watt Satellite speakers, so the whole system is 45 watts.

They sound amazing, and they also look amazing too! The volume control is excellent, with the touch sensitive controls.

I got them new for $40 at one point. I agree.

27 watts isnt all that much.. is it?
I don't have much room to talk, as I use my laptop speakers and headphones... But from my knowledge, a good subwoofer is about 120watts...

I have a 40w amp for my guitar, and I don't even dare turn it to more than 25%, 40w is a LOT, and it's only ~3 DB difference from 27w. tongue.gif

Eh? My amp has two 60 watt speakers on it.
And my best friends sound system has a total of like, 400ish watts. (133 sub, 65 center, 60 sattalite (4x), too lazy to do the math.)

I use the built in speakers on my monitor, not that powerful, but they produce sound. Might buy some cheap $20 speakers in the future, but not in a real rush to.

Lol no its not that much, but taken that your going to be sitting in front of your computer there pretty good for the price smile.gif.

I actually was working on someones computer the other week, they had 1000W speakers/amp in such a tiny room, all hooked up to their computer. They are VERY loud but heck imagine playing games on them tongue.gif.

I use my computer's built-in speakers, they're pretty good.

When I'm actually listening to music, I connect my iPod to my hi-fi installation. It's old, but it has good sound.

I just use my laptop speakers for normal tasks. I use cheap in-ear headphones for gaming and music because it provides nice sound and noice isolation and doesn't bother anyone else. cool.gif I also have the portable Saitek A-200 speakers. They're really cool and sleek and nice-sounding even though they aren't really loud. I got it for cheap at buy.com for only $20!

Someday I might get some real speakers. I really like the Logitech 5.1 systems, and they're only $60. But nice 2.1 sets are down to like $15 these days. blink.gif

those look nice on newegg.

im stuck with this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16836116153

I have a set of Antec Lansing ASC41s. Don't let the price fool you (99¢ on ebay). Each speaker has a tweeter and the normal speaker in it, and they are really loud and nice. It also comes with the option sub woofer which I don't have. They're loud enough as it is. happy.gif

I have sucky laptop speakers, but I wear headphones 24/7. My headphones are really nice, 150$ from Sharper Image. They have there own volume control, so I can make the sound go pretty high smile.gif

Also, They are noise cancelers.

I hate to do this but I have to crash the Wattage = Best parade in this topic...

Your systems really are junk. Sound and quality are not measured in wattage. Those $5000 systems you buy from Best Buy? Overpriced Chinese junk. The new Bose stuff? Couldn't hold a candle to a real system. Computers... having real good audio? Lets say this... digital audio isn't all that great. To get great sound, you need high quality analog systems. That Creative X-Fi or Prelude? Quite basically isn't anything. There are no sound cards for computers that actually give excellent sound. You've given up quality for a few more ear-numbing db. Most everything you find on the market now is junk. It's a sad sight when you can't find a quality audio store within 50 miles of where there used to be ten.

One last thing--why don't you go for sounding clear, instead of sounding loud?

Agreed. Too bad we live in a digital world and analog stuff are hard to come by. unsure.gif
