2. Desired section: RuneScape Discussion
3. My experience: I am fairly good at writing essays in real life. Almost always a perfect score.
4. My example: Pk'ing
Pk'ing was an important economic and fun part of RuneScape. Pk'ing has recently been removed by jAGeX, to stop Real World Trading. Pk'ing was a way players could earn cash and battle each other. The only bad part of Pk'ing was death, in which a player lost his/her items if he/her was skulled. Being skulled only happened when a player would attack another. Not being skulled resulted in keeping the best three items when dying.
The effects when Pk'ing were removed were tremendous. Many players lost their only source of income, and ended up quiting the game. This caused rants by the players, and jAGeX soon had their hands full. Prices wavered back and forth. The economy had a break-down.
In place of Pk'ing came the Bounty Hunter arena and Clan Wars. Many players called the Bounty Hunter arena a lame excuse for Pk'ing. On the other hand, Clan Wars could be called a success. Players join up in a clan and fought other clans. Many players have fun doing this, for items are not lost when a player dies.
Overall, the removal of Pk'ing caused many things to happen. Two new mini-games were introduced, one a success, the other a failure. Also, prices rose and fell, but then soon became stabilized.
