Following to this now dead topic, I'm reposting this to see if my new idea is good. biggrin.gif

I've changed a bit of the games. Meh. tongue.gif

The Movies
Gun (lags me a bit now, when I get more games it'll be worse)
GTA Vice City (laugh all you want, it owns SA)
The Sims 2 with Nightlife, Open for Business and Seasons
GTA San Andreas (completed all missions and got to around 70% on VC but cba finding packages)

I might get a few more games, but they wouldn't they a lot more than 20 GB of disk space. smile.gif

My current set up..

HD 80 GB (yay I'm 100% sure for this) - 30 GB Phr33
RAM 512 MB (amg dis 100% 2 irl)
Graphic Card RADEON 9200 SE Family 128 MB (yes, I always had a crap GC, still do)

After a few suggestions of yours, I decided to make a list too. biggrin.gif

HD 160 GB (will upgrade with another 80 GB) - 45 € for 160 GB, might consider buying this if there isn't an 80 or 120. I really don't need anything more than 120 GB but meh. tongue.gif

RAM 1 GB DDR (will upgrade with another 512 MB) - 20 € for the 512 MB.

Graphic cards I can choose from..

Galaxy AGP GeForce FX5500 256MB DDR TV/DVI - I would not prefer this one as it's lower, but still added. 30 €.
Sapphire ATI AGP HD 2600PRO 512M DDR2 DVI/TVO - 75 €
Sapphire ATI AGP X1550 512M DDR2 TVO/DVI-I - 50 €

In total it would cost me around 100-150 €. As you can see, I prefer older games (well not really but all we get nowadays is FPS and I hate those) so it shouldn't be a problem to run all those normally, but it's up to you to say that. biggrin.gif

Thanks in advance. smile.gif

With the 1gb Ram and the 256mb + Graphics card the games should run smoothly smile.gif

Also.. what CPU do you have? It does make a big difference you know..

I know that it's an AMD, but what kind exactly, don't remember. Around 2.4 or 2.6 GHz, don't know that either. Maybe you can tell me how to find that out so I can post it? tongue.gif

Thanks. biggrin.gif

Right click on My Computer (assuming you have Windows XP or something similar)
Select Properties and voila! its should display all your system configurations smile.gif

Yes, I do use XP.

It's AMD Athlon XP 2600+ 1.91 GHz. biggrin.gif

1GB RAM and a 2600Pro would be fine. You should be able to find a 160GB hard drive (WD, Seagate) for $50-$55 USD, a 250GB hard drive for $60-$65 USD, or a 320GB hard drive for $75-80. I'm guessing you can only use IDE--which is limiting since IDE drives don't transfer that well to new systems. In fact, many new systems that will ship within the next 2 years won't have floppy or IDE--the demand has continued to drop.

Meh, idc about that. I only want to buy an 80 GB but it looks impossible to get one nowadays so I guess I'll get a 160 GB and have 240.

So, is it sure that I won't have any problems with having the kind of hardware listed in the first post with my CPU and Motherboard and that I will run the games listed above smoothly? biggrin.gif

Thanks again. smile.gif

Athlon XP (K7) was mostly DDR, but also had SD-RAM variations IIRC. They were also AGP most of the time. I checked in the old forums and came to the conclusing that I'm about 90% sure it's a motherboard with an AGP slot. If you have at least a 300W power supply, you should run into no problems.
