Matt T
1. Why I would like to join: I've thought about joining for a while now, and finally decided to. Basically I like reading the newspaper, and would like to be involved with it.

2. Desired section: Interviews.

3. My experience: I was on the newspaper team at school for the time it was around. Everyone basically worked on all of the sections.

4. My example:

Matt: Hey Darren, thanks for letting me interview you!
Darren: No problem.

Matt: Could you tell us a bit about yourself?
Darren: My name is Darren, I'm 16 years of age, I go to school with poor facilities (no lockers), currently a year 11. I am currently a resident of Australia and I believe its one of the greatest countries to live in. smile.gif

Matt: Do you currently have a job?
Darren: I work at Coles Supermarkets in the Deli section. It has pretty good pay and I'm fairly happy with my part-time job. smile.gif

Matt: What are you planning to do after school?
Darren: It depends on my grades really. Lets say I do excellent in Economics, I'll think about doing something related to it. If I do good in I.T, I'll do something related to Computers.

Matt: Have you travelled to another country?
Darren: Yup. When I was a 1 year old fellow, I travelled with my mum to Philippines. I used to chase the chickens! biggrin.gif
Matt: biggrin.gif

Matt: Do you have any siblings?
Darren: I have a 13 year old annoying sister. sad.gif

Matt: On a scale of 1-5 how well do you get along with her (1 being really bad, 5 being really good)?
Darren: 5.

Matt: Are you learning, or do you speak a language other than English?
Darren: I can speak a little Filo. biggrin.gif

Matt: Filo, which country is that from?
Darren: Philippines.

Matt: How did you get into learning Filo?
Darren: My mum talks to fellow asians (hehe) in Filo language so I kind of learn what word is what. She's taught me the basics, such as hello, goodbye, thank-you and all that.

Matt: What's your favorite food?
Darren: I love all foods, but I have to say Chinese and Italian foods.

Matt: What type of music are you into at the moment?
Darren: I like all genres so I listen to all types of music besides Country.

Matt: You've been on Sal's for quite a few years, and have had quite a few display names. What's the reasoning behind your current name, Darren?
Darren: It's my real name in real life and I think its a cool name. The other names were funky, but not as funky as Darren. tongue.gif

Matt: You also use iTush on IRC and have used it on the forums before, what would you say to people who dislike iNames?
Darren: "You make Bruce and I sad! sad.gif"

Matt: You've been on Sal's for quite a while, how did you first find the site?
Darren: It was all because of the RuneScape 2 Beta. I was searching the net for RS2 Beta Screenshots and came across Sal's. I was amazed at the pictures he had taken.

Matt: How long after finding the site did you find the forums and register on them?
Darren: I bookmarked the site after I saw the pictures, until the first forum officially opened. I think I joined 1 day after it opened. There was an announcement on the front page so I decided to register. smile.gif

Matt: If you could remove or add one rule on Sal's what would it be?
Darren: None. I think all the rules at Sal's are fair. smile.gif

Matt: Which forum or subforum(s) are you most inactive in?
Darren: Probably Scape Lounge and General RuneScape Discussion.

Matt: What's your status in RuneScape?
Darren: F2P and inactive.

Matt: Have you ever been in a clan?
Darren: Sadly no. I wasn't a wilderness-freak. Haha!

Matt: What do you think about the recent changes to RuneScape?
Darren: It has to be done. RWT was one of the major issues and had to be dealt with.

Matt: Did they affect you much?
Darren: The only update I dislike is the Trade Limits. I no longer trade, I use the Grand Exchange. smile.gif

Matt: Do you play Clan Wars or Bounty Hunter much?
Darren: Sometimes when I have nothing else to do.

Matt: What are your top 3 pet hates about RuneScape or it's players?
Darren: Besides the removal of Customer Support, I have no pet hates. tongue.gif

Matt: What's your favorite skill?
Darren: Fishing! It's one of my favourite hobbies in real life. smile.gif

Matt: Have you either thought of going for a 99?
Darren: Nah.

Matt: Have you done the Easter Event? What did you think of it?
Darren: Yeah. I thought it was pretty awesome. cool.gif

Matt: Ninjas or Pirates?
Darren: Ninjas! biggrin.gif

Matt: Thanks for the interview Darren ice.gif
Darren: Thank you and good luck with the newspaper! ice.gif

A pretty good application smile.gif Interviewing is quite easy as long as you keep the discussion interesting, which you basically did. Good job smile.gif
Doddsy
I thought that was a pretty good interview, I spotted one mistake (possibly) but apart from that it was a pretty successful application

Some readers may not understand what "I.T" is so you should try to abbreviate less often.

Good interview apart from that. It looks fine to me. smile.gif

When you say that you need to do well in IT to get a job related to Computers, wouldn't it indicate at least slightly that IT is related to computers? tongue.gif (which would make the sentence make perfect sense)

'tis a nice interview. biggrin.gif
Prashanna
Great interview and application. biggrin.gif I'll accept this application.

HOW DARE YOU TRY AND DEFY THE GREAT GRAND HIGH NEO AVATARS. BURN SINNER FOR YOUR WAR CRIMES AGAINST THIS FORUM!!!!

Joking aside it was a pretty good interview.

Matt T
GFX isn't a very common abbreviation though (maybe on the internet, but not really in real life). IT kind of is, and that's what Tush said so blame him aware.gif.

Thanks guys ice.gif
