We have had a Belkin Wireless G Router for about a year and the entire we have had problems where it just shuts/powers down by itself. It basically means we are totally unable to stay connected for any time at all

I have both a Belkin Wireless G+ MIMO router, and a Belkin Wireless G Adapter, and I can say, I've had them both for about a year now, and I've never had any problems with it... Well, the Wireless G Adapter will sometimes... "Lag out" while playing a game like Runescape.. But that's due to proper drivers not provided to Vista users for the model number, otherwise, Belkin is probably one of the better brands I've been through in the past few years.

If you have been having random disconnects/packet loss, you can attempt to update the firmware on your Belkin router, and updating the drivers for any of your networking hardware (Wireless adapters, etc).

first thing you should do is change it for another (hopefully you have a warranty) to see if it's defective.

I had problems for ages. It seems Belkin routers don't work well when are trying to connect two PC's to the network wireless IMO. I then had one PC connected to it wirelessly and another via LAN and it works fine with no problem. If the router itself is shutting itself down could it be overheating by any chance?

I have always had trouble with their products. I recommened getting a new router made by any company besides them. I prefer Linksys Routers. smile.gif

I've had a Belkin for nearly 2 years now and it's been running perfectly since the day I got it. I have a PC (running XP), laptop (running Vista), PS3, DS, PSP, wireless printer, Xbox 360 and a Wii all connected to it and haven't had a major drop in connection since I've got it.

You must have just been unlucky and got a faulty one, but I can't say a bad thing about Belkin at all.

Belkin router here, for 3 years. No problems with it whatsoever.
