I've seen this before on a Dutch site, and apparently these optical connections can transfer up to one terabyte of raw data per second. It's pretty amazing, and having processors in the 300 GHz range definitely opens paths for a lot of new developments. biggrin.gif

Graphene, right? I haven't read this post or the linked page--but if memory serves they've been playing around with Graphene (Carbon--network bonds the same as carbon nanotubes) for these huge-gigahertz designs. We still have a bit to go--we're using silicon and next thing is silicon and lithography.
