My dad said that I can build one myself and that he would have the one from my other thread. I'm so lucky!
Anyways, range will be around 700 Euros.

I want to play all the new games on med/high settings. (Crysis, AC, CoD4)
I'm thinking 8800GT and 3-4 GB ram, including Vista.
Any ideas on processor, or corrections on RAM or Videocard?

Sorry about the second thread, but now I don't wanna screw up, I seriously need a rig here that will work perfectly. So please people, tell me what I should take!

Do you need a monitor or anything? Or just a computer?

With the 4 gigs of ram, you'll need vista 64 bit. wink.gif

700 euros? That can be done. unsure.gif Unfortunately, you'll get ripped off my European retail prices. The "Summer GPU Wars" are about to start too--nVidia and ATI will probably get on a releasing spree... meaning that current high-end will lower in price and new high-end will appear. I'm personally going to stay tune to the ATI HD4000 series of cards--the HD4870, to me, is an interesting card. That, and RV700 will be a multi-GPU design, and rumor has it, with hard-wired CrossFireX (including a shared memory pool).

Point of View GeForce 8800GT 512MB, £106.98
or
GeCube Radeon HD3870 512MB, £104.99

Gigabyte GA-EP35-DS3R, £74.95

Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit OEM, £62.96

Corsair XMS2 4GB (2x2GB) DDR2 800, £69.99 (because I cannot and will not recommend OCZ. And boy! I can easily buy the same amount of memory for sub-$60 USD!)

Cases... I selected Case 2 and 3 myself, but that's because I own one and it's "average" among the 7 listed for you. 40.19 euros factored in.
Generic brand in red with large side fan, LED screen, questionable quality?, £23.99
Same as previous, but in black, £23.99
XClio/Aplus 188AF, £31.08 (I own one of these--great cases for the money and cooling!! I don't use this particular case, as my super heatsink tower just won't fit, but I still own it and have worked in it and its brother!)
XClio/Aplus Propeller, £40.19 (I own one of these too--more space but it's the same basic design as Case 2. This is what I have my rig in--it's a nice case and there's a good amount of space in it too, for routing cables.)
Antec 300, £37.99 (This Antec Three Hundred is new and I hear it's a real pleasure to work in! Seriously--great from what I hear!)
CM Centurion 5, £34.98
CM Stacker 690, £49.99 (This CM690 is a very nice case from what I hear, but may be out of budget)

Power supplies... I selected the Seasonic S12 II 500W, since it's an excellent unit and *actually* worth the price!
Seasonic S12 II 430W, £44.64
Seasonic S12 II 500W, £52.75
Corsair 520W HX (modular), £63.23
Corsair 620W HX (modular), £82.98

Hard drives... I would select the WD 500GB model, personally
Western Digital Caviar SE16 320GB, £40.74
Western Digital Caviar SE16 500GB, £53.80

Lite-On 20x SATA DVD+/-RW/RAM with 3 bezels and Nero, £20.49 (I have on of these too, but an OEM black version)

Now what? Just processor (and cooler, and TIM, and TIM remover) I think... I left the processor for last because that's where you want to "splurge". So, here goes! (wait for my edit)

Arctic Cooling MX-2, £3.27 (TIM)
Arctic Silver ArctiClean, £4.00 (TIM remover)

Coolers...
Scythe Mugen (Infinity), £32.68
Scythe Zipang, £34.26
Zalman CNPS9700 LED, £34.76

Processor time!
Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 (3GHz and new Wolfdale), £124.99
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 (2.4GHz and older Kentsfield), £137.95

Done. That should come out to ~£700.

Bob-sama's list should keep you pretty much covered. The downside? He forgot Pounds > Euros
So £700 is around 910 euros.

What country do you live in? And what online retailers are you willing to use?

Did I put that in pounds or euros? I coulda sworn it was in euros... It was off of a list I labled "European Retailers"... I'm an American who's too used to paying in the USD or occasionally in the CAD. Basically point me towards to retailers you're comfortable using and I'll put together another shopping list.

NewEgg is US-only (states and territories). TigerDirect is US and Canada only. I have ebuyer, dabs, misco, and novatech, but I think those are all in the GBP instead of EUR.

Well I'm Dutch, I'm liking your list but isn't that flashy cases and all needed? Because I really don't care about the case, but what's in side. Just asking.

EDIT: BTW, my dad knows this guy, who really knows how to built computers, and he's going to make one for me, I just have to say what I want in it. Mostly just how much harddrive, which processor, videocard and RAM. I have a great mouse, keybourd, soundinstallation and screen. So that's going of the prices, 500 GB harddisk is wáááy too much in my opinion. I'm going for around 250 GB.
But if you can make the cheapest shopping list for me, I can show that to him.
So I seriously want the Dual2Core @ 3Ghz, the 8800GT and the 4 GB RAM, and around 250 Gb harddisk, nothing more really. For all those other components, like coolers and stuff, just put the necessary in it, no extra cash for flashy lights on the case. happy.gif
Still, thanks for looking everything up, I hope you can make a nice new and cheap shopping list for me!

Out of them, only Novatech do European delivery to selected countries in Europe. Quite reasonable price for delivery though, as you pay the delivery charge for the whole order not per item.

However, the prices are in GBP not EUR and I can't find an option to change that. bleh.gif

Ok...

Intel Core 2 Duo E8400
Decent motherboard (Abit IP35 Pro is usually recommended)
2x2GB Corsair XMS2 DDR2 800
GeForce 8800GT
FPS Fortron, Seasonic, Corsair, or PC Power & Cooling power supply (400W is a reasonable minimum)
Western Digital Caviar SE16 or Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 hard drive

I'd add the Scythe Infinity for silence, but make sure the case he chooses will fit it. The reason I ended up getting the Propeller is because the 188AF's side panel wouldn't fit with the gigantic cooler. The cooler itself has one real flaw--that being the mounting hardware isn't great. Pushpins aren't good, especially for large and heavy coolers like that. I've heard good things about the Zipang, and it's shorter than the Infinity.

Definitely ask for good TIM--Arctic Cooling MX-2 is top-notch stuff, as is the more-common Arctic Silver 5 and Arctic Silver Ceramique.

As for the cases--they're not that flashy. The Propeller and 188AF especially--they're quite modest and modern. I'm really thinking of removing the LEDs on the fan, because it's such an awesome case. You can and probably will want the front LEDs (XClio logo) to be unplugged--I did it myself and I can say I don't really miss them. The first two should be decent, and the CM Centurion 5 and CM 690 are both pretty good prices, and the Antec 300 is a new case many people like.

Bob, what kind of price will come with what you listed?

I don't know for Euros--I was guessing that a full system would come out to 700 euros, based on a $2 USD = 1 euro guess. I didn't even catch the GBP to Euro conversion since twice the estimated price would be $1300-1400 USD, and that's around what could be purchased for that price.
