1. Why I would like to join: I feel I could write about Clan Discussion, and perhaps shed some light on it, and maybe gain intrest in it, and not only that more people from that section of the forums would read the paper, which would get them intrested in the rest of the forums, not only that most of you know theres alot of posters who only post there, sometimes I'll enter the debate forums, or fun and games depending on my mood, but once I got into that section, I never really left it, lol. Well theres something for everyone at Sals I guess!

2. Desired section: Runescape Discussion or Forum and Site Discussion

3. My experience: Led 4 top 25 clans if you count 3x as 3 clans in it's different times, and I know alot about the stuff that goes on, especailly in Sals clans. I try to notice everyone from the small clans to the little guys as you can see when I rank clans in the opinions thing, and give credit to those who work hard and it goes unoticeced, something i have felt before lol.

4. My example: Little is known about Bears679 who was my co leader during our time leading the 3xtermination who people for a short time ranked #1 on Sals.

Me: How are ya Neel?
Bears: Fine thanks Pete.

Me: Sooo how are you?
Bears: Decent enough.

Me: What was your first clan?
Bears: Why you know that one Pete .
Me: Yes but it's for Sal's, lol..
Bears: Okay then.. Cwc, Chaos Warriors Clan, led by Sal's very own moleman
Me: Haha we owned You guys.
Bears: ?
Me: Tup
Bears: Yeah right Pete lol.
Me: I do recall you joining us =P
Bears: Okay you got me .

Me: So Who do you look up to in particular?
Bears: I feel adelais is a good clan to look up to because of how they were made as a group of friends and grew from there.


Or round two this is a funny example, I can do serouis too but this would be considered funny to those who understand it I hope.

The deep secret to Ft's warring Success.

Ft has been in Sal's for a long time now, and it's become aparant that they are doing something right. They have over 100 wins and I'd say that's impressive. They might look all innocent in their red capes, but don't let that fool you, they have darker ways of winning wars. Since 2006 Finish Ed has been the leader of Ft. This coincides with the creation of Alpha dextrous 7. Alpha dextrous 7 or ad7 is a rare drug smuggled from China which gives the user a sense of strength, and the feeling that they are invincible. Now how he's kept them from going overboard is another mystery. Reports indicate that he has given them smaller doses but built them up so they have an immunity to overreacting to it, and going and warring someone like Di. Ft's latest member Caleb is known to be a smuggler of this, and has given tons of the substance to shushter who in turn gave it to Destiny who isn't an angel after all. This is a shocking report, and such " Nhism " won't be tolerated. Do what's right Ft.

Ahmad, and his little known secret.

Ahmad, if he was a playing card he'd probably be the five of aces, what I am getting at I'm not sure, but maybe if you read this article you may be. Ahmad is known as the simple friendly leader of Ronin, but with every Jeykle there is a Hyde, and his evil twin causes much havok. It is said that Achmad is one of the fiercest Nh/Ni/Scum/nMe/Rot/Slaughter17s out there, and it is known that on multiple occasions he has actaully snuck into clans posing as a hot 18 year old chick, to get ranked, and not only destroy the clan but make them into his evil minions. As if this wasn't bad enough for Ahmad, people actaully think he is commiting these crimes. As the wise Halo1540 once said, I wouldn't trust Ahmad as far as I can throw him, and it's obvouisly not that far considering they are 1000 miles apart.

Where are they now segment?

Sals has seen many people come and go, as with many places, but some of these people touched the lives of so many members of clans at Sal's and suddenly disapeared without a trace. In hopes of finding out these mysteries, and bringing a sense of peace to Sal's clan members I began an investigative report.

Bears679, affectionately called Carebears, a name coined by myself ( Pkpete ). He was known for his loveable " Neelness " and cute little cuddly teddy bearish appearance. However those close to him knew that underneath that teddy Bear fur there was a shark ready to strike at whoever swam too close. He has gone missing for some time now after the closing of 3x. I luckily was able to track him down. Neel is currently studying law at one of Indias premier law schools. His message to Sals users is " Hey, I'm okay. No pc no rs!". Well there you have it folks.

Bolshan, probably most known for his clan hopping skills unparalleled to even that of vindicator78, disapeared after Mod lost to Ronin. Hunting him down was a challenge. I looked high and low through the jungles of Canada, and finally found him in Quebec. He currently is signed up as a Russian mercinary, and is going to be deployed at the Russian/ Chinese border in a few years. Good luck Bolshan. Give Em' Siberia kid.

Your example is short, and it really doesn't have too much meaning to it. It doesn't reveal anything interesting, and it isn't that interesting to read.

I'd redo it to give yourself a better chance.

You have great ambition, but we don't have a section called Clan Events and Discussion. More so, I don't understand why you put in an interview where you said that you wanted to write some articles, shedding some light on Clan Events and Discussion. I personally think that you should apply for Forum and Site Discussion. You can, in your articles, talk about the mood and emphasis of the Sal's Clanning Community, and the effect it has on the game. If you happen to be accepted in the newspaper, you can also write for RuneScape Discussion which means that you shouldn't be hesitant as to which section to apply for.

Additionally, I think you're experience is great. Do you have any experience in journalism, though? If you just redo your example like Lilshu mentioned and if you try applying for F&S or RS Discussion rather than the unheard of Clan Events and Discussion section (on the newspaper), I'm sure that you have a chance of getting into the newspaper.

Make a Clan Events and Discussion section and you'll have a lot more readers.

Sections don't get us readers, articles do. If there are clan articles, they are well-suited to either Runescape Discussion or Forum and Site Discussion.

The sections are simply a way of indexing the contents of an issue, not to exclude or include any particular kind of article. I have never known an article to be rejected because an appropriate section couldn't be found for it.

Please update your application in line with the suggestions of the previous posters. Once your application is accepted, you'd be welcome to join in the staff debates on how to structure and present the Newspaper. If you prefer, there is a Suggestions & Feedback forum for non-staff to give opinions on the Newspaper. I think we would all dearly love to receive more feedback on the Newspaper.

We can't just "magically poof" a Clan Events and Discussion section. We have to go into discussion on whether or not a Clan Events and Discussion section would be suitable. For instance, I'm not sure we have had a clan article in a long while, perhaps we have never had one! So if we just create a section for something in which there are no articles, the section will be a failure.

Anyways, I think that Clan Events and Discussion is too specific. In the newspaper, our section is of the broad. We have RuneScape, in general, Forum and Site Discussion, and all the other sections. The names of the sections are all general, thus, we can get a good amount of articles in. If they were too specific, I'm not sure if the quality nor the amount of articles in a section would be too great.

That would be Pete's job, write Clan related articles, hes not bad, hes just being lazy.

I woudl support you, but hers some advice:
I'm doing what your trying to do, get fakes into there section. I've written an article for graphics 9well 4 but anyway) and these will be in next issue. Statrt off with a small article in forum and site disscussion or rs disscussion, see how it goes. I'm not sure how much you cna say about clans.

I'm not trying to get into an argument here, but I'm sure it takes more than one person to write for a whole section. As I stated before, I'm not sure if we, the newspaper, have had anyone write a clan-related article before.

Yea I know i'm not trying to fuel an argument, it's just that imo I think more people would read the newspaper, I know I would.

Ok, I'll make it simple for you. Change your application section to either Runescape Discussion or Forum and Site Discussion, otherwise I will reject your application (you have one week to make the change).

Unfortunately, our current system of application -> acceptance / rejection depends on having a Section Head accept your application. There is no section (head) for your application at the moment, so no one can accept it.

Gimme a job and if I can I'll get you readers.

You need to choose a job, not the newspaper team, not Sal, not anyone else but you. It is your decision to which section you want to apply for.
