I just had a quick question, and couldn't think of another section to put it in. I was just wondering if you could apply to be an editor.

You cannot apply, you get elected via the previous editor. Tradition is that the vice-editor gets the posistion. If nobody is elected to the position a person will be voted for to become editor (most likely by staff) You cannot apply to become vice-editor either, just so you know.

Section Leaders and Vice Editor is done by voting by all the newspaper team members. When the Editor resigns, the Vice Editor becomes Editor and then a new Vice Editor is elected.

The previous answers give you the right information. That said, anyone on the staff is welcome to make editorial comments and input to any other article. No one is invited to join the staff without giving an example article though.
