1. Why I would like to join: I've read every single Sal's Realm Newspaper ever since it first came out. I've been astonished at the work and figure that I could help out with some of my information on Runescape. Also, I want to give it a shot at it wink.gif

2. Desired section: Runescape Discussion

3. My experience: I've lately been interested in the Runescpae Forums here in Sal's. There is alot of points that I could easily state and come to a point of conclusion/opinion on what Runescape is heading towards; economically and graphic wise.

4. My example:

As Runescape has exited the Beta stages of it's new Graphical Update, we can see that both members and non-members are able to play Runescape HD. From experience of playing Runescape HD while it was still in the Beta stage, I can state that JaGex has outdone themselves. Looking at the graphics, Runescape finally has a realistic texture and feel to it. It gives the player the actual feel that everything within the game is realistic and not just some pixels put together in 3D. Over the years before the Runescape HD Update, we could have seen what was going to follow from previous graphical updates. The previous graphical updates only involved a certain race or city in Runescape. The detail wasn't as nice as what we have now, but it improved the game by what its previous standards were. I would have been fine with the graphics the way they were at, but I realized that one opinion out of millions cannot be recognized.

When the HD Update occured, I was happy to find it relaxing and enjoyable; glitches and all during the Beta stage. But, as we saw, JaGex is going to increase Member Subscription by $0.95 USD. As I see it, this certainly caught many of the member's attention. Some may have thought, "Well it's only a little more than what we are paying. Besides, it's not that much." Meanwhile, others would probably be saying, "Now JaGex has gone too far. Membership is too expensive for me. Why on earth would JaGex do it now after the Runescape HD update?" Well, for those who ask that question, it's very simple. You need to realize that JaGex owns 160 servers; plus the German Servers;and have to use their programming for all of them. Not many people realize that it costs a good amount of money to run a great graphical game on 160+ servers.

So now a new problem enters. Non-members have finally recieved the HD Runescape they awaited for, but all members and non-members have the choice of using the old graphics on Runescape. This cause the problem that members would be paying for everyone's enjoyment of the new graphical update, but they still have the old graphics at their disposal. At this stage, JaGex should come up with a difficult decision to keep rants on money issues. My suggestion JaGex, once you have Runescape HD running smoothly just like the old graphics, make Runescape HD members only with the new subscription price. Then, give the non-members the old graphics with members having the choice too, but paying the $5 USD price instead. It may seem not fair at first, but once non-members understand what members are actually paying for, by no time they would understand if JaGex released information on what Membership Subscriptions are being put forward towards.

If my application is declined, I would like to thank the staff for atleast giving me a chance. Other than that, I hope this is ok box.gif
Adam?
I thought the subscription price change was $.95. Am I missing something?

It has good grammar from what I can see, but my main problem is you could expand so much more on the conclusion. Your point of view is often the most important part of the article. however, I'm not in RS discussion so I can't talk.

Thanks for the advice. I was going to put my point of view in, but I kind of realized my example would have been huge blink.gif

Should I edit that part in?

I think there's a lot of potential here.
