Well I was in here on the beginning and sort of just dropped off, but I'd like to come back and contribute anyway I can.
2. Desired section: Comics, Graphics, and Poems
3. My experience: Well I was in the team before until I left. My experience with graphics is quite extensive at this point, I do a lot of web design and random vectoring at times, which aids my comic abilities. So I guess you could say I've had almost 4 years experience, since 2005. Late '05 that is. It all began with RuneScape fakes and onward.
4. My example: http://www.sir-beret.deviantart.com
That and all I created 3 comics for the paper, best being my 300 one. [dA link]
As well as doing a couple RuneScape Fake related pieces such as competitions and 'spot the fakes'

Web Design and YOU! On backgrounds!
So you wish to create marvels of web design joy without having to credit someone else? Well I'm here to say
Subtle is key with a background: When making a background it can either be a solid color or a repetitive image. Always make sure it is subtle and not too vivid, you do not want it distract your viewer. A color that condoms the base color of your design is always a good start.
Also, never EVER (I don't care if it's Armageddon or the Apocalypse) use a picture for a background. You know what I'm talking about. You make a website devoted to some shizzle game and decide
Oh hey! I know! I'll use that screenshot of Gears of War with Marcus kicking major Locust cabbage! .... NO! DO NOT. I WILL KILL YOU. For one, it is too many colors, which means it will distract your reader and most likely clash with your text forcing him or her to squint to realize you're drooling EPIC GAMES fanboy.
Good background:

+ Flows well
+ Subtle dark color. Grey. Grey is good. Just make sure the text is light for good contrast.
+ Smooth repetition
Bad background:
- MySpace pictures are teh epic phail
- It's a picture
- It's obviously post-op
- Do not flow, not even to the square root of 1
- No
- You fail
Okay well that's the basics of backgrounds. Of course it can go deeper into more complex magnitudes, but that's for the people who actually want to use their
Next time, I'll talk about FONTS & TEXTS! Thank you and goodnight!
5. Notes: I know the paper is also for showcasing writing ability. I personally am fine with this and will agree to do any writing on anything graphic related if I'm given a topic. Whether it's my opinion on faking or a tutorial. I offer my services of literature and design.
