I have a modem(witch every one has) and i have a wired router(d-link ebr-2310). I am about to get the d-link dir-625 wireless router. Can i connect all 3, like connect the wired one to the wireless will it work??
Earlofvarrok
Yes. Although you could just plug your computer into the wireless router wink.gif the D-Link website says that they both support modems. You might not even want your modem - do you have broadband?

(FYI, I don't have a modem)

Modems are only required for dialup connection.

Broadband. Anyway.. I'll assume you have dialup. You should be able to plug your modem directly into the router, so you shouldn't need to connect up the wired router at all. smile.gif

Nope.

You probably have high speed internet. Go to speedtest.net and tell us your download/upload speeds.

You need a modem and a router. I have a portal, which is a modem and a router in one.

If you're going to buy a wireless router, you take out your old wired router and plug in your new wireless router to the modem, then use the install disk with your computer and follow the directions.

You can still use a wired connection with a wireless router. wink.gif

I guess mine is bad the test said.542kbs download and 256kbs upload.

Yes, that is broadband, or seems to be a 512/256 kbps speed, or perhaps 1024/256 and you're just a long way from the exchange.

From my knowledge many router's have modems already within their own hardware, however I'm not quite sure on the question you're asking, except that, if you want to use the modem just follow what redmonke has told you. Although as all ISP's know of when you buy a router from them they provide what he has referred to as a 'portal' or a modem and router in one.

Just wait till you get the thing, then just test whether or not your router can connect to the internet without the modem.
