It's "Bob" or "Bob-sama".
Anyways--this would be about the best EeePC with a hard drive.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16834220443Typical Atom 1.6GHz, 1GB DDR2, 160GB hard drive, and WinXP Home. It's a 10" model so the keyboard is larger and setup much more like a typical laptop. Overall a decent laptop. Also available is a
white&red version that is basically identical to the above but costs a bit more. If that red (well, pink) is more her speed, it's basically up to her. I'd only caution her, out of personal experience, that the white touchpads get noticeably dirty. Mine has changed colors already. That's my only regret with the white EeePCs--they do get dirty. I'm going to try cleaning it with isopropyl alcohol later--and see if that improves it.
Anyways, just realize that the screen is quite small. If she's used to 1024x768 screens on desktops or laptops, she'll be fine. There isn't any other laptops that I'd really suggest in the sub-$500 price range.
