Full Version: Which Notebook Should I Buy?
Sal's RuneScape Forum > Everything... Not RuneScape > Tech Talk > Tech Discussion

I have a desktop (hand-me-down) in my room, but my boyfriend has pretty much taken over it, so I think I'm in need of a laptop. I would get a desktop, but there's next to no space left in my room for a desk.

As for what I want:
Under $2,000 would be fantastic
13in. to 16in. screen
OS doesn't really matter (I have only used Windows so far, but a change is fine)
Long battery life would be nice, but it's not super important since I'll be using it at home
I'll be using it to surf the internet, play games (RuneScape and WoW mainly), and listen to music

So, anyone have any suggestions as to what notebook could give me all that and not end up being too slow?

Edit: Fudge, I just realized that this is probably in the wrong section. D: Sorry, and could someone possibly move it?

I could get you something that fits your needs under a $1300 budget. tongue.gif
  • If you would like, you could try out something from a brand website such as Sony, Dell, or HP. However, I find that most of the stuff you find from those websites cost more than what you can get from a specialty website. It's just my little observation, though. I like brand websites, though, as in most cases you have more customization options. Anyways, here are some good notebooks for you from Dell, Sony, and HP.
  • I strongly recommend this notebook, though. biggrin.gif

That computer is a steal! ohmy.gif

Just note that it's for gaming, obviously. If you're not into hardcore gaming, you could easily find something in the 600-800 dollar range.

Under $2000!?! No prob, if your into gaming you'll probably want to get a good gaming laptop, make sure it has a good graphics card, and if your really into it, a removeable one.(so you can upgrade once its mediocre.)

You might want an entertainment computer, mind telling some more things you intend on using it on?

Really all I'll be using it for are things like iTunes, forums, a petsite, RuneScape, and WoW. Most of my time will probably be spent on WoW though.

I recommend against that Asus laptop. I've heard of tons of problems with Asus's laptops...so yeah.

I've used a few Dell laptops that have been great, no problems. I'm going to recommend looking into a XPS M1530, nice specs for your price range. smile.gif
