In my house I have 2 computers. A desktop and a laptop. When I first got my Zune, I put all the stuff on the desktop computer which is my brothers. The laptop is my computer. So whenever I want to get music, I have to ask him to leave his computer for a bit. Now, he has an iPod and so I want to switch the Zune things to my laptop. Zune things like the menu thing or whatever you call where it has all your files located. How would I do this? I don't want any of my stuff to get deleted from doing this. I tried asking the people on the Zune forums but they never responded.

Get a flash drive. Go to the my music folder, copy everything in there, put it on the flash drive, plug the flash drive into your computer, paste them into your my music folder.

I don't think that will work. It would be easier if I knew what the screen thing is called. I want to switch the whole thing. Like there's the screen thing where you can access the Marketplace, Your collection, Pictures, etc. I don't think that will switch over on a flash drive because you install that. The problem is, I don't want this thing to happen again. I tried installing the same thing into my laptop but I couldn't put any music in or anything because it said I already had a computer with all my zune things on it so It couldn't work.

This looks like a help source. A simple google search gave me quite a bit of content, why don't you try tongue.gif

This is how it works. When you download something off the zune marketplace it downloads to my music. The zune marketplace program just connects to your zune to transfer the files.

Download, then do what I said in the earlier post.

If you don't have the music on your computer, it can't just magically add it to your zune. wink.gif

I've tried downloading that but I get an error. I read here: http://www.zune.net/en-us/support/usersgui.../quickstart.htm
It say's that I can use my Zune with as many computer's as I want to?
redmonke
What's the error? biggrin.gif

Here's what I get:

Another person who had this problem used a registry cleaner and it worked.

Download here. You shouldn't change any settings, just hit clear now (something like that. Big blue and white button).
Darkblister4
Thats safe right? I'm REALLY conscious about safe sites now.
redmonke
Yes. Anything from download.com is free from malware.
Darkblister4
What does a registry cleaner do? Like specifically.
redmonke
Your registry is a dark scary place basically tells what's what (something like that). Like whenever you add a program, it adds a registry entry. Some viruses mess around with the registry to make popups come up, but that's not what this fixes. This one goes in, finds unneeded registry entries and cleans it out. smile.gif

A lot of people around here don't like registry cleaners very much, to unreliable. But I know they definitely can work, so use at your own risk.
redmonke
Yea, I'm not a fan of them myself either, but if other people got the thing to work, then it's worth a shot.
Darkblister4
Ok, the registry cleaner didn't work but I think I know the problem. I checked the system requirement and Zune requires like 512MB RAM and I only have 502MB. So I looked on google and I someone posted on Yahoo Answers here. It says that it's a good a idea to disable programs from Msconfig. I don't know what to disable though.
redmonke
No, that's the recommendations. The requirements are 256mb.
Darkblister4
OK well, in the registry cleaner, what's the difference between the expert and beginner mode? I tried the expert one and found more problems. Should I fix those?
redmonke
Ok, I think I found a solution. Do you have a windows xp disk lying around (or the one that came with your computer)? Pop that in, select repair. That should fix the problem.
Darkblister4
Ok, i'll try that once I get the disk.
