I used the automatic scanner and there were some question marks. I don't really know these things because this computer is a hand me down and I'm cleaning it up.

So someone like Agent F or Colt, work your magic.


My dad said there was spyware on this computer, but I scanned with avg and superantispyware in safemode and got nothing.

Lol, I don't know. He took it to his friend to wipe it, so I guess he must have reformatted it and got rid of them.

I had a virus once, it was pretty strange, but it disappeared after a restart..
Maybe a suicide virus? Placing itslef in the download temporary folders?
How did your father find out it was spyware anyway?
Did he use something from Download.com that is free but tells you if you pay it will remove?
I went on something like it, and they carry virus.. Only adware though.

But reformatting is a bit too drastic, hope you didnt have much use for the files..
A reformat can kill any virus, and thats 100% true.

Though i dont even know if i have a virus, because a scan will come some percent at 1 million files. (With archive files)

The only thing you should worry about on that PC is what protection it should have, its best to choose what your most used to.

But download.com is one of the safest websites I've been to.


Tbh, I don't know, he just said it had spyware, so I scanned like no tomorrow and nothing showed up.
