~MechScape Discussion~

Here you can discuss the not released game by Jagex: MechScape.
MechScape is a futuristic Sci-Fi game with vehicles and robots. It is coming out in Q1 2009 AND/OR Spring 2009. The end of March is both in Q1 and Spring so that might be the time. MechScape seems will be a really great game because there are already some fansites for the game (...that isn't released yet). If you want to join a friendly one, look at my signature [/advertising]

So this topic is for discussing things like what could MechScape have, some pictures and videos (not likely because Jagex hasn't given out any official pictures and even not un-official video) about it or just speculate about the release date.

Known facts:
~The games name will be MechScape
~It's coming out in Q1 AND/OR Spring 2009

~It is made by Jagex Ltd.
~Jagex has been very secret about it and unlike other game developers they haven't given out any screens or videos. There are only some "leaked" (no one knows if they were actually leaked or they intentionally leaked them) pictures of artwork and some 3D models.

P.S. I didn't see anything in Rules about un-released games so technically this topic doesn't break any rules.

Fansites don't mean that it will be a great game, it simply means that Jagex has a lot of fanboys.

It is also known that it will have better GFX and it will be aimed at more mature audience (not 10 year olds). So i think it WILL be great.

I thought Too Human would be great.. afterall great graphics, made by a developer that already made some really good games, was made for a long time.


I'm hoping Jagex will pull it off, but don't expect it to be all that until a year or so down the line.

You simply can't judge a game that isn't out yet, never mind doesn't have any trailers released. Also, can you direct me to the page that you got that release date from?

Jagex CEO Geoff Iddison said they have “got a very, very big investment into another MMO” and that “you can expect it early next year, Q1 2009″. When asked if it was the rumoured MechScape brand, he responded “I can’t say too much more, I’m afraid”.

I await the realease of MechScape. It sounds like it will be fun, for I love Sci-Fi games.

It looks like that Jagex will also do what they did with Funorb, as in, integrating all accounts on each site.

The mods decided that since another Jagex game is coming out, it would be appropriote to have a MechScape forum for discussion about the game. These topics have come from other forums, and have been moved here.

The beta is out but i gusse you had to be invited to be able to play.

They are Mechscape related, so should be here. As the forum fulls up they will fall to the bottom anyway.

I see it as an FPS style game with awesome graphics, but then I realize I'm imagining BF 2142. I guess I'll keep that image and wait to be surprised.

There's actually a beta? Sweet.

I want to see how good it is. I trust that it will be much better than Runescape.

Of course not an Alpha version. If anything that would be the stupidest thing to do. Even beta-testers would sign off. The only company to release an alpha version of any product is Microsoft, but they call it a finished article.

Although it will most likely be very rewarding - many members will most likely not be willing to switch over to the new "high-tech" scape.

1. This won't be a FPS, but an MMORPG.
2. There is no BETA or ALPHA...if there will be then the only place where you would find out is on www.mechscape.com or on MechScape fansites (MechTopia, MechScape World etc.)

does anyone know if they are going to put on like the runescape site saying it came out?
