Okay I know i've asked about 3 different times for different computers something came up though and I have to cut my budget once more.

I picked out a laptop
Will this run RS HD and WoW those are basically the most graphically intensive games i'll use for it.
It has a 8200m but im not too familiar with mobile cards.

I will probably add more ram to it.
Lidias
It will play Them fine. Wow wont look excellent but it will be decent. The only thing is a slow core speed but you can overclock it if you want.

Alright thats good I got a desktop that runs WoW perfectly anyways atm

I'll wait for some other opinions then ask my mom to buy it
Caboose
I have a Compaq Presario, but it's a desktop. Also mine has an Intel processor, but i can still give my opinion.

It's pretty much the same as that, maybe a bit worse in some areas but i got it for £400, inc monitor, keyboard & mouse etc. I have a few snags, but the system itself is hard to fault. By all means get it, you'll be happy with and the price is good too, considering the exchange rate atm is something like $1.40 = £1 (which is disgraceful considering that a few months ago it was $2 = £1), so yeah, it is worth it.

It's going not going to run that smoothly, because it's using Vista HP with 2GB of RAM and the processor is just average for a notebook. As for the video card, it should be able to handle RS HD alright, but WoW you may have some problems - after all, the card that the notebook uses is integrated and not dedicated. Anyways, the HD feature looks good but the resolution you may be annoyed with while playing games (or so Bob tells me). And the hard drive looks to be efficient.

Overall, for a $600 notebook, it's pretty good. Just keep in mind that you may not be able to do everything you want to do well.

I disagree. I have a laptop with vista hp 1gb ram, pretty much same processor, and possibly same video cards. I played WoW on reasonable settings at 60fps and RSHD on lowest settings with 15-30 fps (the game runs waaaay too slow tbh).

It's fine, and I've had good experiences with Compaq.

Well, with most people, running Vista with only 1GB of RAM will result being pretty slow. Additionally, this notebook's video card is using shared system memory so it is very reasonable to say that the computer won't run smooth. As for the games, I'm surprised at how you got WoW to 60fps. The Radeon 3200M is a mid-end video card and WoW (I hear) seems to be pretty demanding. Anyways, if he does buy this computer, I would strongly recommend Vista Lite.

Eh WoW is far from demanding RS HD reqs are actually higher then WoW's

My 8600 GTS

can crank off 80fps maxed out

With the Radeon HD 3100, however, with maxed out you should get somewhere between 20-40 fps. It's a lower-end video card than the GeForce 8600 GTS, after all, and after looking at a video card benchmark chart, I noticed it's quite down the chart.

The processor seems a bit slow. Depending on how long you plan to keep the laptop, youshould consider getting a better motherboard.

I honestly think that getting a new motherboard for a laptop isn't part of anyone's plan. huh.gif

And its also not possible nor worth it if it was the processor is not bad for a cheap laptop

If you want a good processor for your price, a Pentium Dual Core is what I would recommend. AMD processors apparently are "less efficient" than Intel processors, and a Pentium Dual Core notebook would be just around your ballpark. However, that's just my 2 cents.

I saw a pentium dual core but it came with a gma which turned me away

Lol, I'm on a pentium dual core with gma4500 and it's faster than the other one. laugh.gif

On benchmarks the gma is faster than the one you chose. wink.gif

Well, both are integrated (not dedicated) cards so the one with this notebook isn't much better. And, you'll be playing just about the same games you possibly can with both cards, but the Pentium Dual Core is known to be more reliable and powerful when it comes to applications.
