What do you mean why?

Because some people have too much spare time on their hands and they aren't satisfied with a blazing speed of 2.7GHz.

Unfortuantely I missed Charle's party. If I would have been able to go, I'd have been among my friends for the first public use of LHe. I was ready with a flight, but getting a place to stay would have been difficult. Stinks though--I heard Jasmine was a great host, and the Intel booth was abandoned compared to the AMD booth. Even my 2P-Intel-only friend, Dave, had a good time with the AMD booth. IIRC the stable clocks for those Phenom IIs was 6.1GHz for the 3DMark05 WR. They were having problems with getting the LHe to be effective--they ended up doing half-assed job at it (in my opinion) as half the time, they were pouring it right into a LN2 pot. That's a bad idea because the LHe was boiling off from the air before it could boil off on the copper pots. Even LN2 has a bit of that problem, but it's nowhere near a pronounced because LHe boils at 4.2K. They ended up putting a makeshift lid on the pot. If I would have rights to setup the equipment, I would have effectively used a waterblock with a pressure-release, so to slow the loss rate.
