A few suggestions:

Is it possible you guys could read a little faster and make it sound a little less monotonous? I'm not trying to sound rude, but they seem quite dull to listen too :-( I understand you read off a script (I think) but just speeding it up a notch would be better I think.

Music - it seems to be more music than content, perhaps a few more segments? They can still involve music etc.

There are some other things, but I'll leave it at that for now :-)

That's exactly what we will be working on during SC12. I hope you'll enjoy SC11 when it comes out (soon, I hope). Otherwise, we will take in your opinions, thanks.

Yeah, everyone's been commenting on that sad.gif
We will have that, and a lot of new surprises for you on SC11 and 12 happy.gif

The main problem is that we don't want to go to fast, talking like we would in a normal conversation gets a little bit weird when talking to a microphone and of course we want listeners to be able to understand.

Fair enough - thanks for the replies :-)

I agree, the speaking is very dull and slow spoken, with little enthusiasm. Hopefully this is something that is improved in S12. I think improvising is also something that needs to be worked on, the humor is very forced and doesn't come across as natural.

One suggestion I would make, if the hosts aren't always doing it, is to read the script a few times and then record the interview naturally, without the script in their hand. That way the speech will automatically become faster and come across as genuine rather than forced.

I automatically do this, and do say to the hosts that they should annotate there scripts to suit them more. We are always getting better though biggrin.gif

The trouble is if we go too fast, that we stuff up and we'll have to do it all over again.

Personally I totally agree, the salcast is like watching an episode of Dora the Explorer (Sorry guys!) It is pretty slow and makes me tense inside and uncomfortable. The mics aren't always clear, and the volume levels are all different because whoever edited it forgot how to make all the volumes the same. They also might have their mics too close, or too far from their mouth, and I sometimes think it isn't confident.
Another thing that bothers me is that they seem like their reading it from a script, yes you should be... But, you shouldn't make it sound like that.

Magic, perhaps add a list on what to improve, because at the moment everything I said it kind of true.

You guys are still awesome though, just got to improve quite a large chunk of content in my view.

I can talk faster than a new yorker. So.. I think that wouldn't work because you probably would get anything out of me unless you could seriously understand me. cute.png I'm talking slower on purpose, because I normally speak really fast. I'll try to speed up when I talk though, if you want.

Well, I listened to MuggleCast way back when and they completely talked as if they were having a normal, private conversation. It really helped the flow of the podcast, and even though it may not be scripted at all, I can assure you many people and I totally understood what was being said. But back to the topic at hand, the pacing right now is good. It's not too fast nor too slow. A little faster wouldn't hurt for someone like me, but well, everyone's different.

oh man, i hate it when that happens...then everything gets blurred too.

I don't think it's too monotonous...the only kinda annoying part is the reading off the "Help ENT you could be mentioned on Salcast" sheet. It's kinda boring...maybe add more comments after the achievements? I know you already do, but some more would be nice biggrin.gif
