It seems Jagex is acting according to the statement made: More interaction with fan-sites. This picture is Jagex artwork on Mechscape, released to mechschapeworld.com
Is that a first????

I doubt i'll play Mechscape much, if at all, apart from perhaps just to see how well Jagex have worked on it.
I'm very interested in it's development though, want to see how Jagex perform in a different Genre of Gaming

I haven't really looked into it. I doubt I will play it that much. I'll give it a try, but will most probably stick with RS

I don't like this because it means they'll probably start to abandon RuneScape.
I still want to see how it works out.

I will play both obviously, but I already find Runescape less challenging than it was so I will probrably play Mechscape more.
I also bet sal has been rang up by jagex.

They haven't abandoned RuneScape when they started FunOrb. Why would they do when they start MechScape?

I plan to play MS, the genre is more my style.
Also, I think that if Jagex mods start getting out in the community and they start to take note of their loyal players on the fansites then the game will improve, just have a look at our suggestions forum and imagine the best being picked over by J Mods

Interesting to see they're actually working on MechScape.

That's a nice piece of artwork.
I wonder if MechScape will have anything to do with the story of RuneScape.
Anyway, like Gogs, I doubt I will play MechScape as much as I play RuneScape.

Personally, as one who will probably play mechscape instead of RS when it comes out (MS is more my genre), I can say this looks good. What I really want is a look at the characters or npcs in mechscape, since the only ones on the Mechscape site jagex works with are for Warhammer 40k.

Basically that is my stance too: Play for a certain period of time and see what it is like. As for this:

Not very likely since it will use the same game-engine RS uses.
One more thing: MechScape has been in development for at least 2 years. Now wonder about this: 32m turnover per year. Roughly 14m gross profit. Basically it means the RS turnover is enough to get MS developed. Nice company, wish I had shares in it.

Hrum, I can't decide on membership for MS, on one hand I lasted for years as a freeplayer but on the other hand I'd still be a member for fear of wasting my money when MS comes out.

Not completely abandon RuneScape, but there will possibly be a smaller number of staff that work on runescape. This means less updates, less good content (< Especially for non-members).
And quite a lot of gaming companies drop old games. Nintendo have games come and go every time they make a new console.

No. They have a completely new set of teams to work on MechScape - people haven't been moved to work in MechScape, they got new people. Same number (if not more) of people working on RuneScape, so same amount of updates etc.

I'll most likely try this out, I don't dare judge a game I know nothing about. In the end though, I'll probably just stick with RuneScape, I'm a lot more into the time line there than sci-fi games.
Who knows, it might be a good game. We'll see later on. Amazing artwork though.

Gnomes, Elves, Dwarves, Ents, Orcs, Fairies, Ogres, Trolls and many other races exist in RS and you can't choose your race.
