Obviously I have been gone for quite a while and thus lost sight of how guides are written these days. It seems one thing hasn't changed: Superflous comments in the screen shots people want to add to a guide. I mean what does something like the picture below have to do with the guide?

And there are plenty more of those supposedly 'funny' comments in various guides on the site. I just don't get it: They aren't funny, add nothing to a guide and are plain horrid to look at. /rant

It's a fad that started a while back. I know what you mean, and I think that the speech of the characters in game should be used to help supplement the text. Example:

I can't talk however, as I'm fairly sure I made a bad joke once.

But why would you want the avatar to repeat what is told by the right mouse-click? Its stupid, does look extemely messy and doesn't add anything. The case of your pic proves the point beyond a shadow of a doubt. The guy shouting push this wall is looking at that knight...

Well, that does help - using pictures, and text in the pictures to further explain what to do is good, to clarify. Even if there is an option to do something, there is likely to be more than one. The text-in-pictures does help to point out exactly what to do.

But having those comments, especially when they're not funny, does get very annoying, though.

However, in that picture you can predict that the mouse cursor is on 'Push Wall' because it is that option which is highlighted in yellow. Therefore, what the character is saying is just stupid and silly because it is unnecessary... Anyways, there should be an instruction as to what to do below or near the picture.
