QUOTE (conceptart forum)
Alright, and on to the art and lots of it. I'm working on loads of stuff at the moment too, trying to get it all done before I officially start work in the games industry as a concept artist/illustrator! Eee! I'll be working for Jagex, and I've also been offered a shot at some freelance stuff for Bizarre Creative. So good stuffs all round!
And here's the work I did for Jagex's test, before you get invited for interview, they send you a sample sheet and ask you to concept for a futuristic character and a ancient environment. (remark: this was dated May 2008)

Matthew B

And now as they say for something completely different and in my case worse! well I spent a couple of hours on these next pieces for the storyboard of how a mission takes place. this one represents a scout team's view of a reconnaissance target

Well I did have one more to put up but I felt it was truly hideous and didn't really gel with the other pieces. All the artwork in this post aside from the place holder ships is mine. i.e. I did the background, the ships are by *******. I was perhaps unintentionally a little misleading before by not stressing the origin of the other concepts I posted earlier they are all by *******, a work colleague. apart from the very WIP combat suit

Aaron W

This one is a bit tricky: I cannot find a reference to Aaron W on the Jagex site. However, Matthew B refers to him as being a collegue who did some work in the picture above. That is the only reason I post this picture. If I can get some information on the validity of Aaron W working for Jagex I'll post some more. Eh, strike that, going to post two more... they just look too good not to post them aware.gif

Update on this: Apperently these are pictures of a Half-Life 2 mod.... still, going to leave them here for the time being tongue.gif

Alex J. Content Development Team Leader

He wrote a book called "Redoubt".

In an interview he said :
For a lifelong Star Wars fan, it was a very proud moment.

Stars Wars kicked it all off," admits the ex-sapper, with a laugh. "Fantasy and sci-fi have always been part of my life; I'm a geek, basically . . ."

On a social network site he states about himself:
Hi all. I'm an ex-army officer now working as an Associate Producer for the computer games company, Jagex in Cambridge. I have my first fantasy novel 'Redoubt' being published in Nov 08 and am two thirds through a second story.
Neo Avatars
Her artwork is amazing and the miniatures crazily small. biggrin.gif

It's probably worth noting that the futuristic character was done digitally, and there's no use of 3D in it at all.
Easl
That is a fantastic piece. I sure hope she works on the project, I really like the asian style.
Goggie
Loved the Concept Art of the Ancient Oriental scene.
Mechscape players are in for a treat biggrin.gif
Emanick
Nice! ohmy.gif That color building looks amazing.

I hope she's on the MechScape team. biggrin.gif
Jetkid
What, is it really going to be that realistic?
Pies
If this is what Mechscape is going to be like I need a new computer.

There is a big difference between concept-art and actual graphics in-game. Just take a look at the wall-paper section of RuneScape, then compare that to the actual game.

I must say this though, I do hope they will go for more detailed graphics, even if this means the hardware requirements are higher than those needed for RuneScape.
