Ok so in class we used laptops for something but one guy somehow created pictures on his screen animated now these weren't part of the desktop and when i dragged the mouse over i saw a little box around them and like you know and X and a -
i asked him how he kept on saying no . Do you know how??

UPDATE: He said he did useing a website but he woouldn't tell me what its called.
Ok i finally found out his friend told me you right click on any picture and click set as desktop item.

What operating system was he using?


Was it like the thing on the right?

He probably made the image using a photo manipulation program such as GIMP or Adobe photoshop, using different frames and then merging them together. Then previewed it on the desktop, which opens up a new window and you'll see the image moving. Is this what your talking about?

i don't think he could do all that on a class computer in like 10 minutes

I remember a long time ago while using Windows 98, I was able to add .gif animations to my desktop and move them around and other stuff. When I clicked on them or had my mouse over them there would be a box around it with exit and such.

It was easy to do on Win98 but I don't know how to do it on Xp/Vista, probably requires a download.

Is this what you're talking about?

It might've just been a Widget, in Windows XP? They aren't hard to find, and aren't Vista exclusive anymore.
