Official Jagex LiveJournal Community

Hi everyone,

We are pleased to announce that Jagex now has an official LiveJournal Community!

Some of you may already use LiveJournal, but in case you're not familiar with it, LiveJournal is a popular site for keeping an online journal or 'blog' and is used by a number of our players and their communities.

We will be making occasional entries with news and updates to keep you informed about changes to the various games we offer, upcoming events, and things that have happened in the games. It isn't a substitute for these forums, and we won't be able to help you with any account issues there, but it is intended to provide you with another means of staying up-to-date with all things Jagex.

The updates can be read by going to the community page or by subscribing to the RSS feed using an RSS reader. To leave a comment you will need to join LiveJournal, which is free and simple.

Ok...never heard of livejournal, but I guess I can go check it out.

And I'm never going to join the runescape facebook.

That is a one way trip to embarrassment.

Never heard of this "LiveJournal" thing either, but it makes me very happy to see that Jagex wants to interact more with the RuneScape community.

I wouldn't say that seeing as FB is open to anyone with an email address.

I could see this spurring some Runescape players to use the LJ service.

That's why I put it into italics. But I'd imagine that them using FB is because they're trying to attract a different range of people. Didn't Facebook come first in the poll as well?

Interesting news about the quest. Hopefully that's coming tomorrow. Maybe it will quiet some of the whiners for a few hours lol.

As far as Live Journal, I dunno. I just don't think of it when I think of blogging or networking communities. It's pretty low on the totem pole, so the choice is interesting...

Did you find that on their Facebook? I searched and only saw them say, "To celebrate the upcoming release of our 150th quest, and to mark the ending of the Goblin storyline..." It's strange because I don't think they have stated that it would end the Goblin storyline.

Live Journal is a blogging tool like WordPress and Blogger which has been around for a number of years. I too am surprised they didn't choose a more popular system.

I think I heard about "LiveJournal" somewhere, but I've never been there. I just checked it out--looks like Jagex is working hard to keep in closer touch with all the runescape players.

lol me too...i have about 150 people and when they check that i joined that group...end of my social life
