Upon installation I can say that the final version is a lot more stable than the Release Candidate that was released a few months ago. No noticeable changes as of yet, as this release focuses on the core features and functionality of Internet Explorer 8.

I downloaded the beta a while ago. I didn't install it. Sure, it looks good, but it's simply not going to beat my current combination of FF3 and Chrome.

I remember downloading the beta. It was a mess.

Just a bunch of addons that should've been in IE7 but weren't.
FF is still supreme.

Updated, but probably not gonna use it.

If it's a Windows hotfix (which I bet it is), I'll download it. If it's not, I won't waste my time because I won't be using it anyway.

I downloaded a beta of it, I didn't like it. The way it showed the address (using a darker colour for the main part and a lighter for subdirectores) was really annoying to me, so I'll just stick to Firefox when I use Windows.

Any info on its speed? How much memory it uses? How often does the final version crash?

Its pretty good actually. Dunno about the memory (Probably uses a little bit more than IE7)
Its faster than IE7 and hasn't crashed so far.

Still, Firefox owns. IE just sucks because I think it doesn't care about security - Firefox's first priority is the security.

I've been waiting for the final version to be released, I downloaded Beta 1 and 2 then the Release Candidate 1. Thanks for the announcement!

I use Internet Explorer quite often, I'm downloading the update as we speak. In my opinion it's great! I've never had an issue with it in terms of it's user interface or internet security. I also have the latest in Firefox, but don't use that as often anymore.

http://www.foxbusiness.com/story/markets/i...y-improvements/Microsoft DO care about security. Security was a major factor in the release of Vista and it still is important in IE8.

I'll continue using Firefox, but IE8 looks like a small improvement on IE7, nothing major though.

I downloaded it, but I doubt I'll ever use it unless I want to play
certain shockwave games.

Actually IE in vista is the most secure browser out of all of them...
