When MechScape comes out, will there be a new forum/site dedicated to MechScape? Or will Sal's Realm of RuneScape just stay with RuneScape?
Barrieau
Perhaps they will combine. That would be easier.
Adam?
I'm assuming the site will stay the same with a new section dedicated to mechscape.

That's what seems to be happening.

Forums will probably be:

Forum & Site Talk
Everything Runescape
Everything Mechscape
Everything Not Runescape
The Media Board

The Mechscape part of salmoneus.net will probably still be under runescape.salmoneus.net, I imagine. I don't think Sal would make a mechscape.salmoneus.net, but I'm just speculating.

If he actually makes a site for MS, he'd surely do mechscape.salmoneus.net (it takes 30 secs to do so and it costs nothing).
Dragonclaw
This would probably come with the site overhaul. Who knows? We need to get a word from this from Sal himself to see what he thinks.
Muttmuttinthebutt
I think that he will just use Red October 2: Sean Connery Is Pissed Off as it already has a mechscape updates and discussion section

I'm about 100% sure that they will change the name after the release of mechscape, but that's just me speculating.

Sorry, I wasn't very clear. I didn't mean that if he made a Mechscape site it wouldn't be mechscape.salmoneus.net.

What I meant was I don't think he'd make a new web site for Mechscape.

Just to name a few, how do you know it costs nothing? blink.gif

It'd be a lot of easier if Sal combine MechScape and RuneScape guide, having a section for that like Adam said.
Definition
Mechscape shouldn't be a part of the site.

It's like making a forum dedicated to the Lexus LS on a board and site about Lexus ES.

It's not a Lexus forum, it's a ES forum/site
It's not a jagex forum, it's a Runescape forum/site

Because runescape is just a folder in the salmoneus.net root domain. The server understands that runescape is intended to be a subdomain, and thus marks the location as runescape.salmoneus.net. It's quick and simple in the web host's control panel.

For any guides to be put on the site, I agree with Fini in that it would be wise to have a separate location to help with site organization for the users and Sal. For the forum, just add a few boards to the already created category. This forum is already well established with members and staff. We shouldn't need to register twice. He's also licensed to two boards with the second one being a test area, so it'll be more beneficial economically. (IMO, now isn't the time for either changes.)

could be possible to have a seperate forum
but the section is on this site already
can't say for sure but where are the guides giong to be kept

Has anyone considered that this decision is entirely left to Sal and that won't change no matter what you say he should [not] do?

If there will be a Mechscape board/forum/site there'll be news about it, if not, not. It's just that simple.

Indeed. Nothing I said was supposed to be a guarantee, as I have no contact with Sal. I was simply making [un]educated guesses and speculating.

I thought they had a mechscape discussion part, so wouldn't it stay the same?

Of course. Everything suggested is just that. It's up to the staff and ultimately Salmoneus to decide what he wants to do. Being a discussion board, we are posting what we feel and suggest accordingly. I'm sure he'd like our input in his decision. If he disagrees, then he does. Nothing we can do about it, but we should still be allowed to discuss what we think.

There is a Mechscape category with two boards and there wasn't any news about it. It just showed up one day. huh.gif

Edit @ Error: Sure, it's possible to have another board, but consider what I've already said. Sal is allowed two licenses to the IPB forum software. One he is using to run SROR forums and the other is private for testing purposes. If he wants to keep the test board (which I think is a wise decision), he would need to purchase another license. It doesn't make much sense to do so because this forum is already well established. It has loads of active members and trusted staff.

I think the website overhaul might also be related to mechscape but we'll have to wait and see.

How about Sal's Scaping Realm lols but im pretty sure it will remain the same.

It seems good to have a section dedicated to MechScape, and I'm glad we already do, but I'm not sure about having a whole other section with guides. slanty.gif

I think that if people volunteered to make MechScape guides then it would be reasonable to have a section dedicated to those guides.

Sal's Realm of Scapz0riz - Featuring Salmoneus as Sal

I'm pretty sure that Sals realm will support both games with the forum and the site itself, just gotta wait and see how it works out.

If Sals was only Runescape, I'm pretty sure we'd drop in the rankings, so to speak.

I think he will add in a few more subforums for mechscape, and a new guide page for it.
But other than that, they will change nothing.
BunnyofDoom
I've got an aweosme tile - Sal's Realm Of All Stuff To Do With Bunnies!

If people are willing to write Mechscape guides, then I suppose there could be a new part to the site or something - Sal's Realm of Runescape and another one called Sal's Realm of Mechscape...
Fencefry
It would suck so much if there was a whole seperate forum for it slanty.gif I think the forum should be Sal's Realm Forum, then it's compatible with the 3 main sections (RS, MS, and not RS)

You're right: why should anyone have an opinion on anything if they can't have an impact on it?

Well if thats the case why do we even have a feedback section?

To get feedback from certain suggestions. What we say may convince Sal to/not to have a MechScape board/forum/site, it's just Sal has the last say in it.
