Full Version: New Subforum In Runescape Updates
Sal's RuneScape Forum > Forum & Site Talk > Website & Forum Announcements
Sparhawke
As some of the more astute have noticed already, there is now a new subforum for this section.

This is due to there often being huge topics with patch notes now and other little bits and pieces dotted about on the official forums which tend to clutter up the main update topics with little bits of information such as SMS options, maintenance and the suchlike that do not need to take center stage as it were.
Desireful
This is a good idea, and besides, I love to see these little tid-bits that get fixed! cute.png
Blasphemy
I saw smile.gif

This is going to be useful.
Entrility
Seems convenient :3

Those would go in announcements I guess, only the big ticket updates to the game would go in updates smile.gif
Cake
I don't see any point to that subforum, but it's fine with me anyway. smile.gif
gazisere
Yeah, I noticed it. It's actually really useful as I don't ever go on the official forums.

It's there so that the main forum or the threads in it don't get crowded, like it happened here.
Gaia

Patch notes could be stickied (can be updated when the patch notes are released), and other forum news can still remain in the original place, it's just better. mellow.gif

Nice work! <3
Agent F
I did notice this soon after Neo posted those four articles. I think it is a good idea to separate the big news like game updates from small updates like certain features or servers temporarily unavailable. Any plans to move such threads from the current RS Updates board to this subforum?
Pack Fo Real
Yea I saw that earlier, thought it had always been there tongue.gif
Kemosabe
Although I never spend time in that board, it's still a great update to me. biggrin.gif
Glad to see it's tidier now.
Ambo100
The problem is that subforum doesn't show up on the rss feed. sad.gif I prefered the old way.

Maybe in time I will go through all the old threads but there really isn't much point as they are closed now anyways...except for the occasional time when someone may need to look at an old article...

Blame Neo, it was his idea and implementation...I would've probably ended up deleting the entire rss feed for the whole internetz aware.gif

Does that sort out the problem?

(should the OP of the thread be shown in the feed, or not as in the case of the 'old' ones?)

OR change the Sals Realm Main page to show both feeds.

Yeah i know, Its probably not going to happen until that big website update sal is talking about.

Yeah i know, Its probably not going to happen until that big website update sal is talking about.

The homepage can only show 3 at once, so changing it to use a combined feed would mean that 'main' announcements disappear within hours when several change threads are posted on the RSOF over the couple of days post-release. Having multiple boxes would increase the scrolling of the page... maybe if there were more columns to fill up with info. tongue.gif
