24th June, 2009 - We now have an official RuneScape ClanChat. Scooterkid74.

18th June, 2009 – We are now accepting Fake Donations. All fakes given to us will receive the following: Credits of who made it; the Omega Symbol. The person giving us the fake still retains FULL credits. Donated fakes will be noted as this in the fakes section "Name of fake" (Donated by). You still retain all copyrights to the fake.

30th May, 2009 – Omega thread design re-structured by Nihilus. Changes to the Rules & Regulations made. All fakes edited by Nihilus to include credits to Omega. New Omega Logo Created (Or at the very least, a new version of it since the general concept is the same)

First I feel I should discuss the roles of the different types of fakers within Omega and their position in the hierarchy. Also note that there are now virtually an unlimited number of positions available for all Depts. (Other than coordinators, invitation only for that area I’m afraid)

Joining Omega is quite simple, just fill in the application for at the bottom of this section.

Coordinators
The coordinators help to keep the group running smoothly and guide us over any bumps. They'll help perfect the ideas and process them into fake orders. They must be experienced and recognized for their fakes. The coordinators also select the best screenshot for the fake before handing it over to the Editing Dept. In addition to this, Coordinators will perform last minute checks before a fake is finalized and released.

Screenshot Dept.
Every fake has to have a scene, right? Well, it’s the job of the Screenshot Dept. to collect dozens and dozens of different screenshots for each and every fake that is produced. All screenshots must be passed to the assigned coordinator so that they can choose the best shot for the fake.

Item/Inventory Dept.
Of course the time may come, when faking, that a new item has to be created. It is the job of the item/inventory dept. to create these items for the fake. A gift or skill with pixelling is NECESSARY for these fakers in order to fine line the items created. Items created are then passed onto the Editor to be placed into the shot.

Monster/NPC Design Dept.
The monster/NPC designers will design and create any in-game monster or NPC used in the fake. They will also do any alterations of the clothing being worn on the person. Another job for the designers will be to put the player into a position not allowed by the Runescape game and that the screenshot taker could not attain. Then they'll give the fake to the editors.

Editing Dept.
Editors are the people who will place each item, monster & text created for the fake into the ideal position. Good skill with graphic manipulation could help in this area.

When you join Omega, you are agreeing to follow each of these regulations to the letter. Breach of any of these rules may result in dismissal from Omega. We also reserve the right to refuse applicants if they have been seen to be disruptive to the forum previously (Not just in the fakes section).

A) Guests to the thread are asked not to, in any way steal any ideas posted in this thread. If you are found to have stolen an idea from this thread, Moderators will be informed and their thread requested to be closed as an infringement of copyright.
B) This is a recreational group only. We do not aim to deceive people about the workings of Runescape. Content in this thread is purely fictional and cannot be passed off as official Jagex/Runescape content.
C) If you have been found to be inactive in the group for an extended period of time, we reserve the right to remove you from the group pending reapplication.
D) Members can only be a participant of one faking group at a time. This may change as inter-group relations/cooperation improves, but for now this rule stands firm.
E) Members of Omega will NOT in any way flame other faking groups . Yes, we were the first, but we’re certainly not the only one. Other groups have as much right to exist as we do.
F) Members of Omega will not in any way publically embarrass the group.
G) You may not impersonate or pass yourself off as a member of Omega if you are not a part of the group. I’m not sure why anyone would want to, but it has actually happened before.
H) If you are found to be a disruptive member of Omega, not just in Omega threads, but anywhere in the faking section you WILL be removed from the group. We’re all friends here, let’s keep it that way.

 




Welcome to the Special Projcts Division of Omega. This division is head up by [Lord] Nihilus and is responsible for all Omega activities that do not involve the production of an Omega fake. These include contests, indvidual faking awards, awards for fakers to prove their skills and sponsorshpis/affiliation with other groups and individual galleries.

Please note that you do not have to be a member of Omega to join this division, we also don’t mind if you’re part of another group (As long as it has been approved by your group leader). All other rules and regulations apply. You may also join this division even if you already have a job in the Fakes Division of Omega, as long as you think you can juggle two jobs (This would likely be the less stressful one anyway, so not much juggling is required).

We would appreciate it if others could please show their support for Omega by including some of the following graphics into their forum signatures. This isn’t necessary of course, for members or otherwise, but it would be very much appreciated.

When placing an underbanner in your sig, the code should be all on one line. The code is one two lines here just to stop the page getting too wide for some users.

If you're old topic died, how succesful will this one be?
Also, I think people will "emigrate" to TBFL, seeing as it has not once died since it was created last year, and is undergoing some great fakes.

Grats on getting this back up. I won't be joining, as I don't have the time to join a group (and I don't have the patience to work with someone else...) and stuff. As TEB said, well, TBFL hasn't lost a topic yet...

Well we have been and forever will be around longer then TBFL. And Im sure they would LOVE to claim our title (First Faking Group On Sals) when we finally die. But thats why I am dedicated to the topic so I see a long feature.

I was actually going to wait a bit longer before posting this, but I guess it'll do.

Well, I don't think its going to work now.

It will work. Don't worry I have a system now. For every time the topic dies, I use my chart that I made the other day and calculate the next date to post it. I then find out certain things... that can help us and type them down on my chart. I then impliment them. Trust me its a win/win situation.

When you said you could find out certain things...let's just say - que no parece muy seguro en absoluto.

Seriously, I don't really think that the groups should have competition to the degree that healthy fakemanship degrades to arguing and petty (albeit somewhat creative) insults... If you wanna prove your group is the best, then just put your best efforts into faking for that group . I'd actually put my best effort regardless of what group I'm faking for, as there's no point in joining a group if you won't try. Regardless, although a certain amount of competition is healthy, don't overdo it

It's kind of like how I compete with my best friend in school to get better grades, and we're usually the top two students (though, surprisingly, are not labeled "nerds". And we both play RuneScape, as well ). But recently, he's been getting more jealous and competitive, so one day he managed to convince our entire programming class to not give me the notes I missed one day when I was forced to miss class because of something (it wasn't my choice, unless I want to fail the upcoming AP exam ). Nobody gave me the notes, and now I think I lost a few points on the project we were working on as a result of it (we didn't get it back yet, so I'm not sure yet). There was one friend of mine who didn't mind helping me, but he actually didn't take the notes, and even had some catching up of his own to do . Needless to say, this incident, amongst a whole slew of other reasons (mostly recent events), lead me to no longer consider him my best friend, and instead I think my other friend (the one who did help me) is possibly now my best friend (and he's also a member of Sal's Realm, and he's posted in Screenshot Fakes before ). My point is, you should never let healthy competitiveness go too far, because then it simply isn't healthy anymore

No, the real-life friend of mine is not one of the well-known fakers. Actually, he was yelled at for posting one of his last fakes (some people considered it inappropriate for children below 13. And no, it's not what you're thinking . At any rate, he says it was an idea of one of his friends from a long time ago). His name at Sal's is Bookworm911.

I'll get to that bear as soon as I can, but I hate school.

It takes like an hour to get home from it, and the past few days I had to stay after school for a musical practice. By the time I get home, I'm pretty tired.

Maybe tomorrow, I don't have to stay after school.
