Its not that bad honestly but people are going to hate on it alot here based on performance from 2005 but they really have changed their ways and have some of the highest detection and removal rates out of all AV's.
Basically it has gotten lighter and more effective then ever.

They still use Norton products at school and it's just as bad as it was. It's slow, resource intensive, poor detection rate, even worse removal rate, bloated with addons, and a pain in the butt to remove. It may have been improved, but it still stinks compared to alternatives.
