is there going to be a Sal's Realm Of Mechscape (Mechscape.salmoneus.net)..

i just want to know xD and i think its a good idea (Multi-Fan Site)
Kwinten
Maybe it's a good idea. But it has to be affordable. And I honestly think Sal won't do this.
Doddsy
I don't think it would cast enough extra to have mechscape.salmoneus.net as he already has the salmoneus.net domain.
Gaia
Even though i think this site is supposed to be only about runescape not about mechscape, i suppose that there will be a section for it but not as big as the rs one.

mechscape.salmoneus.net is a subdomain
salmoneus.net is a domain

Subdomains cost nothing
Domains cost $2-$15

So money wouldn't be a problem in any of the two cases.

If MechScape attracts new users, Salmoneus will have more to pay for because the server needs the space. It wouldn't cost much to make a page, but the risk of actually doing it could cost Salmoneus more ohmy.gif.

There would also be more AD's to bring in the needed money on the new site.
Magic Of Woodcut
Wouldn't be suprising to find someone already using it if you look close enough ohmy.gif But it's a 50/50 chance Sal won't do this, since the current domain is still under progress pfft.gif

If there will be one, Sal will have a darn lot to handle of his forums. Maybe he could just get Mechscape Admins?

Not really. All he has to do is add a few sections to this one to handle mechscape questions, suggestions, events, etc...

The site work could be quite a bit higher, though...

If one is ever made I hope the furoms are linked happy.gif

I'm guessing we will just have large board entitled "Everything Mechscape" with varieties of forums and sub-forums.
Kaibamanjrs
Maybe a mechscape.salmoneus.net for mechscape information (like the sals runescape site) but share the forums, just for ease of use and cross communication.

Yeah, the forums would be a problem. Invision Power Boards cost a lot of money... I'd go with vBulliten or phpBB if I was forced to have two forums- one for mechscape and one for RuneScape.

But the thing is this: Having MechScape and RuneScape piled into one forum would make it HUGE!

Not quite. Just look at the Everything RuneScape section of the forum, and duplicate it for MechScape. As for the number of people, I doubt Sal's will get a whole lot of new members because of the new game, at least not at first. After that, the increase/decrease will be about normal, whatever normal for this forum is. I doubt very much that Sal's will get swamped with new members.

The fake section decided we want a linked fake section tongue.gif
But i hope there are the two in the same forum, makes more sense and this forum is more of a sals realm rather than one of runescape anyway.

Yes we did biggrin.gif

If there are two in the same forum, i just hope it wont get cluttered..thats why i like sals so much. The layout is clean. Tip.it forums are hideous with bright neon colors all over the place because mods and stuff slanty.gif

Don't exactly have to give up a kidney for it.

It shouldn't cost anything to add that area of the domain, if he has already bought salmoneus.net (depends if he or a server is hosting)

And it could cost if Sal added a seperate forums for mechscape ;-P

Except he would get more money from the hits, and that would support it

While it is an nteresting idea the problematic thing is that right now Sals is a small site comparatively, there are staffing issues to deal with as with any fansite and while I would love to go onto the MS side of things I am practical too...once you start splitting everything up too much you start having problems...

Maybe in the future, maybe not...no1 knows Sals mind at this point smile.gif

I'll tell you what guys, if sal doesn't make one, I'll make an easl's realm of mechscape, I'm sure that domain will be free

Good luck. There's already MechScape World, another fanstie that looks pretty good that I forget to remember the name of, and a partner and I are attempting to create one as well. (See my signature.) But good luck anyway.
