ALERT:
New reports are in today that city guards have been informed of several goutweed rings throughout Eastern and Central Gielinor. We believe the goutweed is coming from illegal farms in temperate and desert Gielinor.
Goutweed is an illegal substance that causes euphoria and hallucinogenic experiences - in other words, it is a drug - it gets you high.
Past users of goutweed have said it causes you to become tipsy and drunk-like... even stoned.
This is exactly why authorities are trying to stop the sale and trade of it.
Authorities have also been informed of other illegal substances in trade, of which include Lantadyme (an illegal herbical medicine similar to goutweed), Cadantine (similar to Lantadyme, but causes muscular convulsions), and mushroom spores (the strongest of hallucinogenic substances, stronger than their cousins, mushrooms).
Illegal substances are also being disguised as innocent beverages. Moonlight Mead, sold in illicit bars across Gielinor, is loaded with mushrooms and/or mushroom spores. Wizard's Mind Bombs are filled with tons of illegal drugs (hence the name, mind bomb).
Illegal substances are also being disguised as innocent foodstuffs, too. Many people cook up fried mushrooms - exactly what it sounds like.
If you suspect someone in your city is using, selling, or trading illegal substances, please inform your kingdom or guards.

I'd like this to be longer, a lot longer, otherwise I can't review it, you could add so many more articles to make this a newspaper.

Well this really is more like a preview article. I was thinking of creating a newspaper, actually. A humourous one, not a serious one.
A serious one tinged with a bit of humour. That's better.

Once you get that done, I will review your story, I think it's okay from what I see now.

All I have to say is "lol".
It's okay it's just that beer, and alcohol also make you tipsy, and help you lose your motor skills - so why isn't that banned?
Also, in Runescape goutweed is hard to obtain compared to alcohol.

This looks interesting. If extended, I'm sure that most of the regular visitors of the Runescape Stories Section would comment on this. So far so good.

Thank you for the feedback! I really appreciate it!

I currently have a full list of ideas for this. I am just really thinking of how to put it all together.

Contrary to the first posts I did actually not feel the need for more.
It was a funny short story. Didn't have me laughing on the floor but it brought a smile to my face. It's just a bit of a humorous short story. Contrary to popular belief not everything should be 2000 words long each chapter and consist out of 30 chapters.

Should I take that as an insult or a compliment to some of us that enjoy writing long-winded stories? But I agree; short stories can be angsty, or humorous. One such story is Finway's 'Lament'.

It certainly needs
A Great bump (sorry if you don't get that

).
Anyways, Yoller, you seem to be the type of person who loves setting up stories. You can make up great settings and set-ups and all of these interesting facts about the Runescape world and your view of it, but you struggle when it comes to writing a story. This is the only bit of work I've seen from you, but I just got that feeling that you were this type of person (I am, too, and believe me it's not a negative thing). Anyway, it was a nice article and a pleasant read.

Maa, maa, calm down, Finway. I abbreviate story titles so they are easier to say and are less time-consuming to type.

I smiled, pretty nice.
I'm one of the people who enjoy long-winded stories.

If any of you wrote 2000 pages, I'd be reading it the whole month.
I hardly frequent here because I'm afraid of excellently written stories that are never finished.

Well, that's pretty tragic.
I know plenty of stories like that...

Someone call the DEA.
Some reason... I find these quite appealing, probably because it's so very creative.
Right now, I'm just waiting for some new author to pop out of no where and knock everyone at RuneScape stories with an ongoing story. Just waiting...

@Blood Angel: I'm sorry, I didn't mean to offend you.
I personally just disagreed with the fact that every story should be very long. I personally enjoy writing rather lengthy as well. Then again I haven't done a lot of story writing outside of rping (example of a lengthy Ic:
Clicky) and 'The Tensasei' ( Actually I might plan to write that out into a normal story ... Some day. )
It's not that I can't enjoy a long story but I just like short stories more. But I guess that I'm just more of an instant gratification type of person and don't like to wait for an ending to my stories. ;P I guess that's the same reasons why I don't like reading stories or manga which haven't been completed yet. I just need to know there's an ending to it.

I hope so. Having a Runescape newpaper should be entertaining around here. Things have been a bit slow lately.
