Before anyone asks or says otherwise, no, memory bandwidth will not be a problem. A simple explanation is that GDDR5 has twice the bandwidth as GDDR3, so 128-bit GDDR5 is as fast as 256-bit GDDR3.

Uhh, feel like a noob asking this, but in another topic you guys said the 2 number represented the range of the card. The range of what?

Anyway, So this kind of replaces the 4850, since it's close to same specs but $20 cheaper?
redmonke
Well, I'd say more of replaces the 4830 and competes with the 50.

QUESTION: How does this card compare with my NVIDIA GeForce 9400M card?

I'd say it's quite substantial. The 9400m is solid, but not really for high spec games. The 4770 is made for high range games. Not super high, but it's fairly powerful, especially for the price.

And oops, the second link is wrong on the first post. I'll edit the benchmarks in.

I'd be really happy if I had a 9400. It's much faster than my current card. The 9400 can play most games on med settings, while I struggle with most games on lowest. tongue.gif

9400M? Junk, I'd say. Fine for Runescape HD and low-end games, but not much high-end. Anyways--the 4770 is to replace the HD4830 & HD4850 (while the HD4890 replaces the HD4870). As fast (HD4850) or faster (HD4830) and less power draw. Overall good.

Sweet, it's only £80 here. I think i'm most definitely running two of them in SLI now... although it's out of stock sad.gif
